Co-creator of gay propaganda laws, Vitaly Milonov, says he will help Crimea to rid their region of 'evil' like he did in Russia

A Russia lawmaker has called for the banning of gay clubs and social media pages in order to ‘rid the country of evil’.

Vitaly Milonov, co-sponsor of the gay propaganda bill that was made law, has said bars and dance venues for the LGBTI community are ‘destroying Russia’.

The politician who represents St Petersburg in the Legislative Assembly is currently in Sevastopol, a city in Crimea.

Authorities in the crisis zone peninsula told LGBTIs gay pride parades would be banned on the basis of the Russia ‘gay propaganda’ law.

A star studded line-up of headline acts for this year’s Birmingham Pride have been announced ahead of the festival next month.

Conor Maynard, and ‘90s legend Gabrielle will be headlining the two day bank holiday festival alongside acts like S Club 7, Ms Dynamite, Stooshe and heartthrob Elyar Fox.

This year’s parade will start in Birmingham’s Victoria Square on 24 May, and will follow the theme of Equality and Freedom around the world.

Bigot Bill Donohue asked to march in New York's Heritage of Pride Parade, but now charges organizers are forcing him to follow rules he rejects

Anti-gay marriage advocate Bill Donohue is declining to march in the New York City Gay Pride Parade, after he charging he would never be invited.

The president of the Catholic League fumed when Guinness stopped sponsoring the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade because of its exclusion of gay organizations.

He demanded to march in June's Heritage of Pride parade with a banner 'Straight is great.'

Gloria Estefan and multi-hyphenate Kenny Ortega have been named Grand Marshals for this year’s Miami Beach Gay Pride.

Ortega, who’s choreographed the likes of Madonna, Michael Jackson and Elton John, will join the Miami resident Estefan in a vintage Rolls Royce to lead the parade of floats, charities and pride-goers.

This is the sixth annual Miami Beach Gay Pride, and over 80,000 fans and supporters are expected to turn out to join the festivities.

The UK's smartest students have staged a gay kiss protest to fight against Russia's anti-gay laws.

Hundreds of Cambridge University students, the top ranked college in the country, staged a Gay Pride flash-mob in solidarity with LGBTI communities in Russia and around the world.

On Saturday (8 February), same-sex couples kissed, danced, and showed their love for each other on midday, while businesses on King’s Parade blasted music and flew rainbow flags from their windows.

Cyprus will be holding their first ever Gay Pride this year.

To celebrate the north being the last part of Europe to decriminalize homosexuality, the country will celebrate gay rights for 15 days.

Gay rights campaigners believe the ‘time is ripe for an elusive dream of ours’, allowing LGBTI people to be heard and accepted as equals.

The official parade will take place in Cyprus capital of Nicosia.

A police official, who asked to remain anonymous, told AFP that “several” hooligans entered the Art Cinema Kriterion on the second day of the 3-day Merlinka festival, which opened on Friday.

Straight ally and former rugby star Cohen posts picture on Twitter as he prepares his festive feast

Former rugby star and anti-gay bullying champion Ben Cohen has been showing a bit of gay pride while cooking his Christmas dinner.

The 35-year-old pin-up, while straight, has become an LGBTI activist, founding the Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation in 2011 to fight bullying.

He tweeted this picture this afternoon (25 December) with the caption: ‘Wearing my apron with Pride whilst cooking Christmas dinner!’

A new poll has found that more Americans feel it is acceptable for teenagers to wear clothing with the flag of the side that lost the Civil War to school than the gay rainbow pride flag

Americans find the public display of the Confederate Civil War rebel flag more appropriate than the rainbow gay pride flag according to a recent poll.

A Public Policy Polling robocall telephone poll reported last week that 43% of those surveyed thought that high school students should be allowed to wear Confederate flags while at school, whereas only 28% thought it was appropriate for students to wear the rainbow gay pride flag in school.

Only 9% of Americans thought it was more appropriate to wear the rainbow gay pride flag to school than the Confederate flag.

Gay Star News photographed locals and visitors from neighboring countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, Thailand and the Philippines, all who took to the streets to celebrate the theme of 'We stand for love. We stand for LGBT'.

The streets were flowing in rainbow and red, the signature color of this year's parade to signify love.

It is estimated that nearly 150,000 turned out for Saturday’s annual Buenos Aires Gay Pride Parade, the third since Argentina legalized same-sex marriage

Massive crowds came out to take part in the 22nd Buenos Aires Gay Pride Parade on Saturday, starting with a group kiss before 150,000 took to the streets.

The parade wound its way through the city’s streets to the Plaza de Mayo for an open air festival and fireworks show.

Many of the signs and speeches at the event referenced Pope Francis I who in his former role of Catholic Archbishop of Buenos Aires had vocally opposed efforts to legalize same-sex marriage in the Latin American nation.

Russia has ruled a Jewish rainbow flag, which bears a very similar resemblance to a gay pride flag, does not violate the country’s ‘gay propaganda’ laws.

An anonymous objector consulted the Kremlin’s top flag expert concerned the Jewish Autonomous Region’s seven-colored flag was breaking federal rules.

‘Regarding the similarity of this flag with the symbol of the gay movement, we explain that not every rainbow image is linked to sexual orientation,’ official Kremlin advisor Georgy Vilinbakhov said.

Under pressure from the Council of Europe, President Tomislav Nikolić promises a secure gay pride, despite ban this year

Serbia’s president has promised Belgrade will have a pride next year – but LGBT organizers remain skeptical.

Speaking at the parliamentary assembly of the Council of Europe, Tomislav Nikolić claimed the event was banned this year because people might have been killed or injured.

But Nikolić also promised to allow Belgrade Pride to go ahead this year and failed to deliver.

And his comments come after Prime Minister Ivica Dačić, who is also Minister of Internal Affairs, said ‘homosexuality is not normal and natural’.

Serbia’s President Tomislav Nikolic has said preparations for Belgrade Pride in 2014 should begin immediately after his country’s national security Bureau banned the event for the third year in a row

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic has warned that banning LGBT pride events may damage his country’s efforts to join the European Union after authorities banned the 2013 Belgrade Pride march which was due to be held on Saturday.

Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic announced Friday that the march could not go ahead after police warned that far right extremists were stockpiling weapons to attack marchers like they did in 2010 – the last time an LGBT pride march was attempted in Serbia.
