Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin once again have a date on New Year's Eve.

The real-life besties will co-host CNN's annual live coverage from Times Square in New York for the seventh straight year.

Because of Griffin's antics during past telecasts such as dropping an f-bomb, her participation always seems be in question up until a few weeks before the broadcast.

'Wait…what? CNN hired her again? For real?' Cooper said in a tongue-in-cheek statement.

A gay teacher at a Catholic high school lost his job because he applied to be married.

For 12 years Michael Griffin taught French and Spanish at Holy Ghost Preparatory School in Bensalem, Pennsylvania (located outside  Philadelphia).

No NFL player has ever come out as gay during their playing career but Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III thinks this is as good a time as any for that to change.

Chad Griffin is calling on NBC Universal, the exclusive US broadcaster of the games, to cover more than the popular skating, skiing and sledding competitions when competition begins in Sochi, a Russian town on the Black Sea.

US comic Eddie Griffin and lesbian couple throw liquids at each other

Eddie Griffin, a comic and actor, is being sued by a lesbian couple who claims he sexually harassed them during one of his performances.

In 2012 July Leslie Champlin, and her partner, attended one of Griffin's shows at Tommy T's Comedy Club, located in the northern California town Pleasanton.

Champlin charges Tommy T's, included in the suit, allowed Griffin to go on stage drunk. As reported by the site TMZ, the comic targeted the couple with a homophobic routine.

CNN star also reportedly being considered as replacement for Matt Lauer on The Today Show

With Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show ending soon, the CNN star has some intriguing possible gigs including a show with pal Kathy Griffin and becoming host of NBC's The Today Show.

Deadline is reporting that Cooper and Griffin, who have co-hosted CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage for at least six years, filmed a pilot this week at CNN studios in New York.

Details are sketchy but it was filmed in front of a live audience that included new CNN boss Jeff Zucker.

Comic jokingly tried to perform oral sex on gay newsman

After the ball dropped in Times Square on New Year's Eve in New York City, CNN's guest broadcaster Kathy Griffin got her knees and attempted to kiss Anderson Cooper's crotch.

He giggled and tried to stop her and get her back on her feet but Griffin, never one to back away from a challenge persisted.

One group that isn't laughing about Griffin's antics is the Parents Television Council which said Wednesday that Griffin 'has shown increasing contempt for the audience.'

Comic says she tried to go down on newsman for 'ladies and gays'

Kathy Griffin has no regrets for kissing Anderson Cooper's crotch and trying to 'go down' on the newsman during their annual stint co-hosting CNN's New Year's Eve broadcast from Times Square.

'If you think this is the part where I'm going to apologize for trying to go down on Anderson Cooper you are sorely mistaken,' the comic told David Letterman during an appearance on his late-night talk show Wednesday (2 January).

'I tried ladies and gays, I tried - for you!' she added.

Did comic finally go too far on CNN's live New Year's Eve coverage?

Kathy Griffin didn't drop an f-bomb during CNN's live New Year's coverage. She also didn't try and take her clothes off and she didn't scream down to a heckler that she wasn't trying to 'knock dicks out of your mouth.'

No, that was all in past years.

This year, the sixth year she teamed with Anderson Cooper for the telecast, the red-headed comic merely tried to simulate giving oral sex to Cooper.

'Did you drop something,' Cooper said to Griffin as she was down on her knees.

Griffin tells a giggling Cooper: 'This year the mask is coming off'

Anderson Cooper has one of his easiest television gigs all year when he co-hosts CNN's New Year's Eve coverage with Kathy Griffin from Times Square in New York.

All he has to do is giggle.

The cable network has paired Cooper up with comedienne Griffin for the sixth consecutive year and the pair chatted about their plans for the evening on Cooper's nightly CNN show on Thursday (27 December).

'We are gonna break it down this year,' Griffin warned Cooper. 'This year the mask is coming off - the secrets that you've been keeping.'

In this US political season, US voters have seen a plethora of political ads. Most will be lost in the memory hole after the 6 Nov. election. However, one might be remembered well after votes are tallied.

Cher and Kathy Griffin have released a YouTube video called don't Let Mitt Turn Back Time On Women. The two gay icons (Griffin maintains she is a "regional icon") take on Republican candidates Richard Mourdock and Todd Adkin. Maine, Washington, Maryland and Minnesota have ballot measures on ballot

The Human Rights Campaign announced Monday (6 August) that it is contributing a total of $1million (€805,000) to four states that have marriage-related measures on the ballot in November.

HRC, the largest civil rights organization in the US, has established a special ballot measure Political Action Committee and will split the money evenly so that Maine, Maryland, Minnesota and Washington will each get $250,000 (€200,000).

Kathy Griffin welcomed two one-time boy band members to her Bravo talk show this week: AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys and Lance Bass of 'N Sync.

She then proceeded to dish the dirt.

Griffin and Bass began to reminisce about when they first met 12 years ago. She was hosting the 2000 Billboard Music Awards and Bass was one of the performers.

'This is when Lance was still straight,' Griffin told the audience of her show, simply called Kathy.

Kathy Griffin's new weekly talk show debuts Thursday (19 April) on the Bravo network and the outspoken comedienne tells Gay Star News she knows darn well who her audience is.

'Honey, you are my demographic,' she said during a conference call this morning.

'The struggle on this show is to get one f***ing heterosexual [viewer]. This show is basically straight bashing at this point. We are very, very LGBTQI-friendly. We talk about those issues. ... My tentacles have been reaching into the community for a long time.'

Gay rights activist Kathy Griffin joins Ellen DeGeneres in support for documentary Bully

Kathy Griffin has spoken out against bullying in a public service announcement inspired by the documentary Bully.

The gay friendly comic created the PSA in response to the film that explores children’s stories as they face being bullied every day.

The film released tomorrow (30 March) in select US cinemas has drawn controversy over the Motion Picture Association of America’s initial decision to award it an ‘R’ rating, meaning people under 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult to see it.
