Could lead to gay actor's first series since Will & Grace

Sean Hayes, an Emmy winning sensation on NBC's Will & Grace for eight years, is starring in a pilot that may lead to his return to the network in a new comedy series.

The pilot, which does not yet have a title, has Hayes playing the father of a 14-year-opd girl who moves in with her dad. His character is adjusting to that change as well as having a new boss at work who is temperamental.

It's not yet clear if the Hayes character is gay or straight.

'It's 2012, you can say the word 'gay''

For eight years on the NBC sitcom Will & Grace, Sean Hayes played the hilarious gay character of Jack McFarland to such perfection that he won an Emmy and was nominated for six others.

During the show's long run, Hayes declined to discuss the fact that in real life, he is also gay. But that changed two years ago when in an interview with The Advocate, he talked about being gay and insisted that he had never tried to hide that fact.
