The British Broadcasting Corporation has revealed the beloved drama will not be back for a third series

BBC Three has cancelled the lesbian drama Lip Service, it was announced yesterday (12 January).

Harriet Braun, the show’s creator and executive producer, revealed the corporation had not yet given an explanation for the decision.

Set in Glasgow, Scotland, Lip Service featured the lives of a group of gay women and starred Fiona Button, Laura Fraser, and Heather Peace.

The drama pulled in strong ratings when it launched in 2010, but lost a third of its audience when it moved from a late Tuesday night slot to the more competitive Friday at 9pm.

BBC Lip Service TV star and musician has revealed she will perform at the legendary gay festival Sydney Mardi Gras

British lesbian musician and actress Heather Peace has announced she will perform down under at the world famous Sydney Mardi Gras.

The performance, which has been headlined by gay icons like Kylie Minogue, will be the beginning of a tour which will take Peace across Australia.

Touring from10 – 24 February, Peace said it was a ‘dream come true’.

‘It’s been a dream of mine to perform at Sydney Mardi Gras and I’ve also had so many requests on social media from Australian fans for me to come over and play,’ she said.

BBC Lip Service star Peace says Catholic stance is ‘embarrassing’ and she wouldn’t want to marry in church

Heather Peace, star of lesbian BBC TV drama Lip Service, has labeled the Catholic Church’s opposition to gay marriage as ‘embarrassing’.

Peace, 36, who is engaged to her partner Ellie, said she doesn’t want to get married in a church but was ‘ferocious’ for same-sex marriage equality.

The English actress plays gay police detective Sam Murray in the BBC3 drama about 30-something lesbians living in Glasgow, Scotland.
