Discover gay Egyptian treasures hidden in London

Hidden down a side-street, we find the Petrie Museum, one of the world’s greatest collections of Egyptian archaeology and about to host an LGBT event

I’ve lived 13 years in London and – not ashamed of being taken for a tourist – have spent many of my weekends visiting its sites; from the famous to the obscure.

But this city always has a new treasure to discover. And about a month ago I got an invitation to speak at an event at the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology for Britain’s LGBT History Month. I confess, I had never heard of the museum but when I looked it up it seemed so amazing I just had to say yes.

That's why we love American Apparel's new campaign in favor of gay marriage, which features T-shirts with the slogans Legalize Gay and Gay OK.

The campaign stars Isis King, the first transgender person to compete in hit TV show America’s Next Top Model.

America's Next Top Model contestant Isis King among those donning the shirts in ads for American Apparel

A new line of equality-themed T-shirts was launched today (8 June) by American Apparel which is featuring a transgender model in one of its ad campaigns for the first time.

Isis King is a transgender activist who was once a contestant on the TV series America's Next Top Model. She can be seen in the ads wearing various T-shirts with such slogans as 'Gay OK' and 'Legalize Gay!'
