Country was booed for its anti-gay law

Russia's deputy prime minister has said the West will collapse under ISIS and gays after his country failed to win the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday (24 May) night.

The audience booed every time points were awarded to Russia because of its anti-gay law, which was passed in 2013.

Russia's entry, Polina Gagarina, finally came in second, losing out to Sweden.

The next day, Deputy PM Dmitry Rogozin retweeted an article on the Washington Post's explanation of Russia's loss: its anti-gay laws.

In the video, a world first organized by the Proud Lebanon group, 14 prominent Lebanese personalities say everyone is born ‘free and equal’.

A man in Western Syria suspected of being a homosexual was blindfolded and made to run through a field by Islamic State fighters as they stoned him to death

Another man suspected of being a homosexual by Islamic State fighters in Syria has been stoned to death, according to a report by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on Wednesday.

The execution occurred on the province of Homs, in Western Syria though the name of the victim or the exact date or location of the killing remain unknown.

Images of the killing that were published online show around a dozen men in military fatigues hurling rocks at a man they have blindfolded and made to run through a field as a group of civilians watch on.

Islamic extremists have beheaded three gay men in Iraq.

In pictures published on social media, it shows men blindfolded and knelt in front of a huge crowd in an unidentified province in the northern city of Nineveh.

A masked executioner, dressed in black, wields a long, rusty and bloody sword.

While the bodies were not shown, it is claimed the three young men were killed for 'blasphemy'. Under Islamic State-imposed sharia law, homosexuality is punishable by death.

The militant group made the threat Saturday (21 February) on Twitter, seemingly unaware of the glaring spelling mistake – or the fact that the tower is 200 miles outside of the Italian capital.
