Ifeanyi Orazulike was arrested on the same day a challenge to the country's anti-gay law was dismissed

Nigerian LGBTI rights activist Ifeanyi Orazulike was arrested and detained without charge on the night of 22 October, the same day a constitutional challenge to the country's anti-gay law was dismissed.

The executive director of the International Center for Advocacy on the Rights to Health was arrested at his office in Abuja while celebrating his birthday with friends and colleagues.

He has filed a motion in Abuja High Court alleging he was arrested, detained and dehumanized without charge.

An Egyptian cleric has accused extreme Islamists and terrorists of having gay anal sex together while fighting in the name of Allah

Militant Islamists and terrorists are waging ‘anal jihad’ by having gay anal sex with each other, an Egyptian cleric has claimed.

There is even a ‘fatwa’ or religious edict allowing it, says Mazhar Shahin.

But others have claimed Shahin may be simply trying to discredit the Muslim Brotherhood, who were kicked out of power last year in Egypt and who he fiercely opposes.

A video picked up by progressive online news show The Young Turks shows Shahin describing ‘anal jihad’ on Egyptian channel al-Tahrir.

A 30-year-old Libyan Muslim man with a history of instability has been arrested over an attempted New Years Eve arson attack on a Seattle, Washington gay bar but the incident does not appear to have been a hate crime

30-year-old Libyan US resident Musab Mohamed Musmari has been arrested over a New Years Eve incident where 750 people were forced to flee Seattle’s Neighbours night club to escape a fire.

Musmari, who also uses the surname Masmari, was caught Saturday preparing to flee the country on a one-way ticket to Turkey.

25-year-old Waleed Saleh Awedan is at least the 35th person murdered by Al-Qaida linked militants on suspicion they are homosexual in Yemen in the last two years

A motorcycle riding gunman has shot dead a 25-year-old Yemeni man on Monday over suspicions he was a homosexual.

Waleed Saleh Awedan was shot near his home in Lahj province in southern Yemen on Monday evening.

Awedan’s death is only the latest in a series of assassinations of suspected homosexuals by Al-Qaida linked militants in the Arabian Peninsula nation.

It is believed that Awedan is at least the 35th person that militants have killed because they believed they were homosexuals in a two year period.

A fifth man believed to be gay has been murdered by the militant Islamist organization

A man was murdered by suspected Al-Qaeda gunmen today (29 August) because they believed he was gay.

A security official claimed the global militant Islamist organization founded by Osama Bin Laden murdered an unsuspecting shopper.

He told the AFP Salam Ahmed Hasan in a market in Huta when armed Al-Qaeda suspects on a motorbike ‘opened fire’.

Hasan is believed to have died immediately.

Four other men, believed to have been gay or effeminate have been killed in similar attacks in Huta.

A second Yemeni man, accused of being gay, is shot by suspected Al-Qaida linked Ansar Al Sharia militant

Yemen security officials claiming a 25-year-old man was wounded by a suspect associated to the Al-Qaida linked Ansar Al Sharia Islamist group.

The reason for the attack is the victim's alleged gay sexuality.

According to the Associated Press Mohammad Saeed was standing in front of his Huta home, the capital of the southern Lahj province, when he was wounded by an unknown assailant's gun shot.

Yemeni security officials say a 20-year-old man has been executed on suspicion of being homosexual by militants from an Al-Qaida linked group in what may be the 34th such extrajudicial killing of LGBTs in the country

Militants from the Al-Qaida linked Ansar Al Sharia islamist group have shot dead a 20-year-old they suspected of being gay in the Yemeni province of Lahj – though there is confusion over whether homosexuality is still a crime in the country.

Hashim Al Asmi was shot dead on Monday night by militants who then escaped on a motorbike.

Officials told the Washinton Post there had been 33 other gay men killed by the militant group.

Ansar Al Sharia is considered the main Al-Qaida affiliate in Yemen and is on the US’ formal list of banned terror organizations.

LGBT Somalis living in Kenya have expressed their fears about returning to their homelands despite calls by the United Nations for refugees to return to rebuild the country.

LGBTs can technically be imprisoned for up to 14 years for same-sex conduct in Kenya compared to 3 years under Somali federal law, but the Al-Shabaab islamist militant group has enforced the death penalty against LGBTs in the areas it holds.

GSN reported on Tuesday (19 February) about a Manchester student who secretly filmed an extremist Muslim at his Students’ Union saying gays should be executed.

Colin Cortbus, a Middle East studies student at the university in north-west England, used a small camera to film the event. It was organized by the Muslim-led Global Aspirations of Women student group.

A court in Turkey has reduced the sentence for man who murdered a Roman Catholic bishop because he had asked him to start an affair.

Murat Alton, driver and bodyguard to Bishop Luigi Padovese for four and a half years, stabbed him to death outside his summer residence in Iskenderun, southern Turkey, on 3 June 2010, Today's Zaman reports.

Researcher Raymond Ibrahim at right-wing think tank the Gatestone Institute wrote that it is common practice for jihadists to conceal bombs in their anus in order to 'execute martyrdom operations'.

Ibrahim, a fellow at the conservative David Horowitz Freedom Center, says news footage from Arabic channel Fadak TV in 2010 was evidence of this bizarre form of terrorism.
