The hard-drinking, drug-taking, sharp-tongued despicable duo played by Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley look like they’ll be fabulous on the big screen in the near future.

On an appearance on This Morning, Jennifer Saunders hinted she would start writing an Absolutely Fabulous film after Christmas.

‘I'm very close to picking up a pen,’ said Saunders. ‘That's how close [a movie] is.’

Nepal’s Supreme Court has slammed a world-famous charity which detained a vulnerable woman against her will and tried to 'cure' her of being a lesbian.

The charity Maiti Nepal counts British TV celebrity, actress and campaigner Joanna Lumley as an ambassador and has been supported by Hollywood star Demi Moore, among others. The founder won CNN's hero of the year award in 2010.

The charity is supposed to stop the trafficking of women and girls from Nepal into India where they are forced into prostitution.

Their Olympic special version of Absolutely Fabulous was loved by some and panned by the critics.

But now Eddie and Patsy, the TV comedy duo who launched a thousand gay catty comments – and then some – have had their ‘moment to shine’, carrying the Olympic torch through central London.

With Olympic hype building ahead of the opening ceremony tomorrow (27 July), thousands of journalists are poised to report on every moment of the games.

The BBC brought back Jennifer Saunders as spoilt PR Eddy Monsoon and her co-star Joanna Lumley, who plays fashion magazine editor Patsy Stone, for three specials recently. One has screened at Christmas, another at New Year and the third will be seen at the time of the London Olympics.

It’s the first time in seven years that new episodes of Absolutely Fabulous, known by fans as Ab Fab, have been screened.
