School of kiki is now in session as the 'Filthy/Gorgeous' band show the moves to gay culture smash hit

The school of Scissor Sisters is now in session, as the New York glam gay band is instructing everyone how to kiki.

What is a kiki? As singer Ana Matronic says: ‘A kiki is a party for calming all your nerves, where spilling tea and dishing just desserts one may deserve.’

Matronic is the teacher, alongside front man Jake Shears, Babydaddy, Del Marquis and two backing dancers for the video.

The song is from the pop band’s third album Magic Hour, and the lyrics celebrate gay slang and drag culture.

Scissor Sisters' 'kiki' new word is gay slang hit

The Scissor Sisters have officially introduced a new word into our homosexual phrasebook – Kiki

Delicious new word 'kiki' is being added to the ever growing list of gay phrases that have embedded themselves into popular culture.

Kiki comes from the Scissor Sisters track, aptly named 'Let’s Have A Kiki' from their current Magic Hour album and is perhaps best explained by the band themselves who sing: 'A kiki is a party, for calming all your nerves. We're spilling tea and dishing just desserts one may deserve. And though the sun is rising, few may choose to leave.'
