The verbal sparring matches between Will & Grace's pill popping lush Karen Walker and her bitchy nemesis Beverly Leslie made for some of the most delicious moments of the show's eight year run.

It was the character of Beverly, after all, who delivered this classic put down when he came face-to-face with Megan Mullally's Karen: 'Well, well, well. Karen Walker. I thought I smelled gin and regret.'

Openly gay actor Leslie Jordan has made a career out of playing over-the-top gay men.

He won an Emmy as Karen Walker's pretentious, sexually ambiguous arch-nemesis - Beverly Leslie - on TV's Will & Grace. Jordan is also well-known for his cross-dressing character of Brother Boy in the stage, feature film and television series versions of Sordid Lives.

No one has ever accused the actor, whose memoir is called My Trip Down the Pink Carpet, of being particularly butch.

Television stars Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman have been married since 2003 and they want same-sex couples to have the same opportunity to get hitched as they did.

In a new video for the Human Rights Campaign's Americans for Marriage Equality campaign, Parks and Recreation cast member Offerman jokes: 'You know, the night Megan and I got married, she actually thought she was marrying Cedric the Entertainer.'
