Fred Karger is an openly gay man who knew he'd never get the Republican Party nomination for President but he said Friday (29 June) that he had 'the experience of a lifetime' trying.

Karger announced in an email to supporters that he was officially ending his two-and-a-half-year campaign which he labeled 'historic.' He hopes it will serve as an example to young people to reach for their dreams.
