Arnold Schwarzenegger says his parents tried to cure him after suspecting he was gay

Hollywood action hero Arnold Schwarzenegger claims he was beaten by his dad because he thought he was gay.

In a tell-all interview to promote his memoir Total Recall, the Terminator star told US TV show 60 Minutes that his parents thought he was gay when he was a teenager.

The 65-year-old former Governor of California said his mother took him to the doctor to try and cure him, while his dad resorted to violence because there was 'something off'.

'He ran after me with a belt and beat me,' he revealed.

Arnold Schwarzenegger says he wed two gay couples in his office while California governor but denies he supports same-sex marriage

Hollywood action hero Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed he married two gay couples while he was governor of California.

The Terminator star told CBS News last night (30 September) that he married his former chief of staff Susan Kennedy, who he once dubbed a 'cigar smoking lesbian'.

'I performed the wedding in the office,' the Austrian hard-man revealed to interviewer Lesley Stahl after she asked whether he went to Kennedy's wedding.

'I married her in the office, in the governor's office.'

Former First Daughter Caroline Kennedy announced on Monday (7 May) that the judges will be the recipients of the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award.
