Finland's Krista Siegfrids kisses one of her female dancers after semifinal performance

With a single lesbian kiss, Finland has made history by fighting for equal marriage at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden.

Krista Siegfrids, who sang ‘Marry Me’, ended her semi-final performance by kissing one of her female dancers.

It is the first time there has ever been a gay kiss on a Eurovision stage in its 59-year history.

Speaking to Gay Star News in Malmo, she told critics her kiss was about spreading love and not politics. Political gestures or lyrics are strictly forbidden under Eurovision rules.

Kiss-ins will be held to promote the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia on 17 May

It does not matter whether you are gay, bisexual or straight, there is a worldwide call to combat homophobia with a kiss this week.

Across the globe, there will be several 'kiss-ins' promoting the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.

In the UK, Manchester's Lesbian & Gay Foundation will 'Kiss Hate Goodbye' with a flash mob on 18 May.

Grahame Robertson, a spokesman from the charity, told GSN: ‘The Kiss Hate Goodbye flash mob and campaign in general is a chance for everyone to make a big statement against LGBT hate crime.

Debbie Reynolds has some juicy stories to tell in her new book Unsinkable: A Memoir about the so-called Golden Days of Hollywood when she was one of the biggest movie stars around.

The star of such films as The Unsinkable Molly Brown, Singin' In the Rain and How the West Was Won dishes that one of her leading men, Tab Hunter, had tried to put the moves on her when they were teenagers.

The world may not have known it then, but Reynolds writes that even then, she knew the actor best known for the film version of Damn Yankees would rather be kissing a man.

Mall officials maintain couple was involved in 'sexually explicit conduct' when reprimanded by a security guard

A California shopping mall where a gay couple says they were singled out for kissing and holding hands will be the site of a 'Kiss In' protest on Saturday (9 March).

There has been growing public support for Daniel Chesmore and Jose Guzman who were shopping at Westfield Galleria in Roseville last week when they were reprimanded by a security guard.

Organizers say the 'gay peace protest' will take place at 11 am PST.

Department store Harvey Nichols run an advert which some thought was a lesbian kiss, but is really someone kissing their mirror image

British department store Harvey Nichols has had an 'offensive' advert cleared for use, which featured a woman kissing her reflection.

The advertizing campaign, with the slogan 'Love Thyself', for the new beauty section of the department store in Liverpool.

There were 17 complaints sent to the Advertising Standard Authority (ASA), listing reasons such as adverts were unsuitable for children, sexually explicit or that 'Love Thyself' is offensive to people of faith.

Nichols responded the kiss was not legitimately lesbian, because it was the same person.

Daniel Radcliffe wants his gay kiss with actor Dane DeHaan to win the MTV Best Kiss trophy at this year’s Movie Awards and to be immortalized for all time.

Radcliffe said it will be ‘cool’ for the ‘sincere, passionate and romantic’ kiss in his new movie, Kill Your Darlings, to win the award. He believes a gay kiss has never won before.

In the film, Radcliffe plays gay beat poet Allan Ginsberg who falls in love with Lucien Carr, another key member of the beat generation, played by DeHaan.

Stars of The Following smooch when asked about their chemistry

It's not like Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy planned on locking lips.

But they did it!

During the Fox network's presentations at the TV Critics Association press tour in Pasadena this week, Bacon and Purefoy were asked about their undeniable chemistry on the new show The Following which will premiere 21 January.

A critic told the actors that they have so much chemistry on the show that in one scene she wanted them to just start kissing.

Said Bacon: 'Anything could happen.'

He then leaned in and gave each other a kiss.

The cast of Downton Abbey paid a visit to the ladies of ABC's The View this week and co-host Joy Behar in her typically blunt manner asked actor Rob James-Collier: 'What's the difference between kissing a man and kissing a woman.'

Movie channel LS Time fined over US $10,000 for showing 1992 film The Silent Thrush at primetime

The national communications regulator has fined Taiwanese TV channel LS Time for broadcasting a lesbian kiss last February.

The $300,000 (Taiwanese dollars, $10,300, €7,900) fine was for a primetime showing of The Silent Thrush a 1992 film about a lesbian love triangle in a Chinese opera troupe.

In an open letter to the regulator National Communications Commission (NCC) Ta-wei Chi, assistant professor of Taiwanese Literature at the National Chengchi University in Taipei, questioned why they had a problem with homosexual kisses but not heterosexual ones.

First ever gay kiss is shown in Saudi Arabia, as well as some of the most homophobic countries in the world

A brief lesbian kiss at the Olympic opening ceremony has sparked praise and fury after it was aired in some of the most homophobic countries in the world.

Devised by Oscar-winning British director Danny Boyle, the opening ceremony yesterday (27 July) featured the first ever televised lesbian kiss which originally aired in 1993.

The kiss was shown in countries such as Saudi Arabia, where it is illegal to be gay. No other gay kiss has ever been shown on television in the Middle Eastern country.

Chelles restaurant in Costa Rica was told to 'kiss customers goodbye' yesterday (29 April) for discriminating against gays.

Over 100 protestors assembled to take issue with the bar in San José for throwing out a lesbian couple.

Anti-discrimination group Beso Diverso (Diverse Kiss) organized the protest to demand that Chelles bar publicly apologize for discriminating against the couple.

Chelles bar refused to served the lesbian couple and their friends last month after the lovers were seen kissing.
