Brendan Fehr played a gay prostitute in the sexually explicit 2004 film Sugar. Yet he says he was 'uncomfortable' about some aspects of his role as a closeted gay doctor in the new NBC drama The Night Shift.

Fehr, best known for the cult classic TV series Roswell, seemed to be most challenged by filming his first on-screen kiss with a man.

Following the viral success of the First Kiss video uploaded to YouTube this week, the Gay Women Channel has recorded its own version, with alleged homophobes hugging gay people

The First Kiss video uploaded onto YouTube on Monday (10 March) has spawned many imitators and parody attempts, the latest of which shows homophobes and gay people hugging it out on camera.

First Kiss was presented by WREN and currently has over 57 million views. The film shows 20 strangers, of different ages, races and sexual orientations, kissing on camera.

The Gay Women Channel yesterday (15 March) uploaded their own take on the idea, titled First Gay Hug (A Homophobic Experiment).

Last week a self-defined Mormon grandmother named Kathryn Skaggs wrote a blog in an effort to alert the world the movie Frozen was targeting children with a ‘gay agenda’.

In a sense, she was not alone in seeing ‘something gay’. Many gay bloggers reviewed it with the thrill it captured the air of gay persecution and some dubbed it ‘the gayest Disney movie ever’.

Several people were outraged on social media, saying the British soap is a 'disgrace' for showing a raunchy same-sex romance

ITV and Ofcom is facing complaints over a half-naked gay kiss on Coronation Street.

Todd Grimshaw (Bruno Langley) and Marcus Dent (Charlie Condou)’s relationship heated up last week, with the 21 February episode featuring a half-naked embrace and kiss.

Around 100 complaints have been made to TV regulator Ofcom over the scene between two men airing before 8pm.

While some of the complaints were about it being too ‘sexually suggestive’, other complaints were homophobic.

British actor and presenter James Corden hosted the Brits music awards for the fifth and final time last night, and he celebrated by kissing gay Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw.

33 gay, straight and interracial couples have been married at the Grammys by Queen Latifah as Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performed their hit song Same Love with Madonna and Mary Lambert.

The couples married during a brief ceremony held during a pause in the song, exchanging rings and kissing to cheers from the audience.

Madonna took to the stage to join Macklemore, Lewis and Lambert directly after the ceremony.

Many of the couples and members of the audience were visibly crying during the ceremony.

Straight male celebs have kissed in order to fight homophobia in Russia, Germany and around the world.

In the brand new German campaign, titled #Mundpropaganda (a pun on ‘word of mouth’ and ‘kissing propaganda’), the hunks are hoping to stamp out intolerance and discrimination.

Lifestyle monthly GQ, generally known for advertising fast cars and hot women to its readers, launched the Gentlemen Against Homophobia campaign.

The cagey character of Nolan Ross has hooked up with men and women on ABC's Revenge.

On Sunday night's episode, Nolan swung back to men when he locked lips poolside with the character of Patrick Osbourne, the long-lost son of Victoria Grayson (Madeline Stowe).

The twist is particularly intriguing because little is known about Patrick (Justin Hartley) so it's not clear if he is gay, bisexual or getting physical with Nolan for other reasons.

But Patrick should be warned that Nolan's lovers - both male and female - sometimes end up dead.

A Brazilian lesbian couple were arrested and say they were assaulted by police after a homophobic politician objected to their same-sex kiss at an evangelical Christian event

Outspoken Brazilian homophobe and lawmaker Marco Feliciano had two young Brazilian women arrested on September 15 after he saw them engaging in a same-sex kiss in the crowd from the stage at an evangelical Christian event he was speaking at.

Yunka Mihura, 20, and Joana Palhares, 18, were set upon in the crowd by members of the Municipal Civil Guard who then took them to the First District Police Station of São Sebastião.

‘Those two girls have to leave here handcuffed,’ Feliciano, who is also an evangelical pastor, yelled from the stage.

Two Russian runners could face prosecution after kissing on the lips in front of cameras and audiences.

After winning gold medals in the 4x400m race at the World Athletic Championships held in Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Kseniya Ryzhova and Tatyana Firova locked lips on the winner’s podium.

It remains unclear as to whether the athletes were congratulating each other in a sign of affection or blatantly defying Russia’s ‘gay propaganda’ laws since neither of the athletes have released a statement.

US artists Idan Bitton and Alfredo Calle Ferran are wondering why YouTube flagged, and age restricted, their project.

First Kiss is a 84-minute kiss video between the two.

'While the camera is still, the kiss is in motion provoking the viewer to stay and watch. Idan and Alfredo do not interact with the viewer, but offer a peek into their intimate moments of commitment,' the project's description says.

TV straight starlets Kelly Brook and Holly Willoughby shared a steamy kiss on Celebrity Juice last week.

The team captains on the ITV2 panel show were demonstrating how to play Read My Lips – a game involving contestants passing pieces of paper to each other using only their mouths.

With a single lesbian kiss, Finland has made history by fighting for equal marriage at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden.

In the UK, Manchester's Lesbian & Gay Foundation will 'Kiss Hate Goodbye' with a flash mob on 18 May.

Grahame Robertson, a spokesman from the charity, told GSN: ‘The Kiss Hate Goodbye flash mob and campaign in general is a chance for everyone to make a big statement against LGBT hate crime.

Debbie Reynolds has some juicy stories to tell in her new book Unsinkable: A Memoir about the so-called Golden Days of Hollywood when she was one of the biggest movie stars around.

The star of such films as The Unsinkable Molly Brown, Singin' In the Rain and How the West Was Won dishes that one of her leading men, Tab Hunter, had tried to put the moves on her when they were teenagers.

The world may not have known it then, but Reynolds writes that even then, she knew the actor best known for the film version of Damn Yankees would rather be kissing a man.
