Gay character returns for a visit to Dalton Academy with Rachel - belts out a tune

Before he transferred to McKinley High to be with boyfriend Kurt and before he later joined Kurt in New York City, Blaine Anderson had a whole other life.

He was the star singer of The Warblers at Dalton Academy where he and his fellow classmates wore a nacvy blue sportscoat with red trim as part of a uniform.

On the 9 January two-hour season premiere of Glee, Blaine (Darren Criss) returns to Dalton Academy to inspire the current crop of singers there. He brings along his Broadway star pal Rachel Berry (Lea Michele).

Marshall Williams, a Canadian Idol finalist in 2008, plays Spencer

Kurt and Blaine won't be the only prominent gay male characters when Glee returns for its sixth and final season next month.

Marshall Williams will play Spencer, the quarterback at McKinley High School who is also a member of the glee club and who is also gay.

When casting for the role, the character was described this way: 'He's post-Glee gay — no one messes with him about his sexuality because he will kick their asses if they do.'

As Glee prepares to begin shooting its sixth and final season, gay high school sweethearts Kurt and Blaine are engaged and pursuing showbiz careers in New York City.

Blaine (Darren Criss) had proposed to Kurt (Chris Colfer) last fall in an elaborate production set to The Beatles All You Need is Love (see video below).

Colfer, who has won a Golden Globe Award and been nominated for an Emmy for his portrayal of Kurt, said this week he hopes the couple takes things slow.

Unconfirmed reports reveal Ryan Murphy is considering a series of episodes to deal with Russia's gay propaganda laws

Glee is considering moving one of the most well known gay characters to Russia.

In what appears to the Fox musical comedy-drama wishing to tackle the country’s gay propaganda laws, Kurt played by Chris Colfer could be moving out of New York City.

Speaking to E!’s Watch With Kristin, a source said: ‘We are mulling around the idea of moving Kurt to Russia.’

According to the unconfirmed reports, Ryan Murphy and the production team are considering three storyline options for the show’s final season.

Show about high school glee club has gay couples and transgender character

In a major vote of confidence, Fox announced today that it has renewed Glee for two more seasons.

The show, currently in its fourth year, includes several LGBT characters including gay glee club members Kurt and Blaine, lesbian cheerleader Santana, and transgender student named Unique.

Lesbian actress Jane Lynch won an Emmy in 2010 for her performance as cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester and openly gay actor Chris Colfer won a Golden Globe Award in 2011 for his performance as Kurt.

When Glee kicks off its fourth season next month, gay couple Kurt and Blaine will no longer be strolling the halls of William McKinley High School together.

As Blaine (Darren Criss) begins his senior year, boyfriend Kurt (Chris Colfer) has graduated and is off to New York to pursue his career as a performer.

These high school sweethearts may be heading in different directions by the fourth episode of the new season.

Glee creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy shared with fans a never-before-aired holiday scene between the show's gay couple Kurt and Blaine.

It was a charming and romantic scene that ended up on the cutting room floor due to time constraints.

On Monday, Murphy shared another un-aired scene with Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) with an entirely different dynamic. The couple, accompanied by fellow McKinley High glee club members, head over to Blaine's former school, Dalton Academy, to check out the competition.

Creator Ryan Murphy shares scene after reaching 500,000 followers on Twitter

Glee creator Ryan Murphy joined Twitter only days ago but he already has more than 100,000 followers.

As a thank you to fans for helping him to reach the milestone so quickly, Murphy shared with his followers a never-aired scene between Glee couple Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) from last season's Christmas episode.

'Gleeks are the best fans in the world,' Murphy wrote on Twitter. 'Because you asked for it...here is the long lost Klaine Box Scene.'

Some would say that in one way or another, each of these characters fits into one stereotype or another people may have of a gay male.
