'My goal is to try to represent both myself and my community proudly'

Grammy-nominated singer Adam Lambert was the star attraction at the GLAAD Media Awards in San Francisco over the weekend where Spice Girls member Mel B presented him with the Davidson/Valentini Award.

'We are right in the middle of two generations with two different perspectives but one common thread – love,' Lambert told the crowd at the Hilton Hotel in Union Square.

'With all the differences of opinion both within the LGBT community and elsewhere, the best we can do is to keep it real and to spread a message of acceptance.'

South Florida Gay News staff at odds after featuring Lambert

A public war of words has emerged among the staff at the South Florida Gay News after it featured an interview with Adam Lambert that was so popular it crashed the paper's website.

Publisher Norm Kent wrote in a column this week that the story was done while he was on leave and seeing it 'made my partner and me puke.'

The publisher of South Florida Gay News says he went 'ballistic' when he found out his staff had featured an interview with Adam Lambert on the cover of the newspaper while he was on leave.

The story, which broke the news that Lambert and his boyfriend had broken up, went viral and caused the paper's website to repeatedly crash due to the surge in traffic.

'It's not on the immediate horizon'

US recording star Adam Lambert, who has been in a relationship with Finnish television personality Sauli Eerik Koskinen since 2010, is trying to end speculation that the couple is busy planning their wedding.

'I haven't actually thought about marriage at this point,' Lambert said Thursday (31 January) at the We Are Family Foundation gala in New York City.

'I want everyone to have the right to get married, of course, and I believe in that and support that fully,' he added. 'But for me, personally, it's not on the immediate horizon.'

The 2008 American Idol runner-up asked his fans to donate $31 to the We Are A Family Foundation which creates and supports programs that inspire and educate people about mutual respect, understanding, and appreciation of cultural diversity.

Singer Adam Lambert used social media to examine the complexities of bullying.

As reported by the site Buzzfeed, the American Idol singer went to Twitter to discuss how best to help people who are bullied.

'I think we should encourage kids to make new friends,' Lambert wrote. 'Reach out to that kid eating alone at lunch. Focus in the positive.'

Adam Lambert has defended his controversial review of the cast of the new film Les Misérables.

The ‘For Your Entertainment’ singer drew a mixed reaction for a review of the musical, where he accused such as Russell Crowe and Hugh Jackman of ‘pretending to be singers’.

In the film, director Tom Hooper asked his all-star cast to sing live on set in order to capture the emotion on screen.

On 30 December, Lambert said: ‘With that cast, they should have studio recorded and sweetened the vocals.

US pop star gives scathing review of Les Miserables movie on Twitter, blasting actors for 'pretending' they are singers

Gay pop singer Adam Lambert slammed the movie adaptation of musical Les Miserables, saying the singing was so awful it 'distracted' him from the story.

The American Idol star posted his review of the new film on Twitter, attacking the movie for casting 'great actors' who couldn't really sing.

'Les Mis: Visually impressive w great Emotional performances. But the score suffered massively with great actors PRETENDING to be singers,' Lambert told his 1.8 million followers.

American Idol star is urging Maryland residents to vote yes on a referendum on marriage equality

Gay American singer Adam Lambert urged residents of Maryland to vote yes on a law protecting gay marriage at a fundraiser last night (25 September).

Appearing at the 9.30 Club in Washington D.C, Lambert spoke and performed at Marylanders for Marriage Equality.

He said: ‘The thing I like about Question Six is that it’s really not about politics at all.

'Yes you have to vote in order to choose yes but you don’t have to be a Republican or a Democrat.

Singer's new release will be title song off of Trespassing album

Adam Lambert's 1.6 million Twitter followers were the first to know.

The singer, one of the more active celebrities on Twitter, has used social media to announce the latest single: Trespassing, the title song from his sophomore album.

The single, which Lambert describes as 'fierce,' will debut Thursday (6 September) evening.

The album, released on May 15, 2012, skyrocketed into Billboards Top 200, debuting at number one in its first week with nearly 78,000 copies sold. It marked the first time an openly gay artist had an album debut in the top spot.

Just last week, Adam Lambert revealed via Twitter that he had done away with his trademark jet-black hair and become a platinum blond.

Now he's tweeted out the next step in his summer transformation: an arm tattoo.

Lambert has had the the Latin phrase 'Musica Delenit Bestiam Feram' tattooed onto his arm. Translated into English it means: 'Music Soothes the Savage Beast.'

Bad blood between the American Idol runner-ups dates back to 2009

Adam Lambert clearly hasn't forgiven Clay Aiken for the unkind things he had to say about him three years ago.

On Bravo's What What Happens Live Thursday (24 May), the season eight American Idol runner-up was asked to say three nice things about the man who was the runner-up during Idol's second season.

'Can't think of any,' he responded to host Andy Cohen.

Lambert was playing the show's Plead the Fifth game during which Cohen asks three provocative questions of his guests who have the option to 'plead the fifth' on all but one.

First openly gay singer to reach top spot in first week of release

Elton John and George Michael have had albums debut at number one on the Billboard charts but neither were openly gay at the time. So Adam Lambert made some history on Wednesday (23 May) when his album Trespassing opened in the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

By selling 77,000 copies, Trespassing dislodged Carrie Underwood's Blown Away and outperformed Lambert's first album, For Your Entertainment, which had debuted at number three.

Trespassing will be out on May 15, two months later than originally scheduled

Adam Lambert's second album Trespassing will be released on May 15 - almost two months later than its originally scheduled debut.

In February, the singer had announced to fans that his sophomore album would not be out on March 20 after all explaining that he was 'working on some new songs, making the album even better!'

'Thank you all for understanding,' added Lambert who also executive produced the record.

American Idol alum apologes for previously being coy about details

After denying reports earlier this month, Adam Lambert confirmed via Twitter on Tuesday (21 February) that he will be joining the legendary rock group Queen this summer as its lead singer at the Sonisphere Festival this summer.

'As many suspected, I can finally confirm: I have been invited by Queen to sing one very special concert! Sonisphere at Knebworth July 7th!' Lambert wrote on his Twitter account.
