Bisexual actress Lindsay Lohan's portrayal of screen icon Elizabeth Taylor in the television movie Liz and Dick drew pans from critics but gay celebrities seemed to have a rollicking good time with it on Twitter.

BD Wong, the Tony Award winning actor (M Butterfly) best known for his long-running roles in Law & Order: SVU and OZ, was among those who live-tweeted throughout the airing of the film on the Lifetime network on Sunday (25 November).

Bisexual actress will play HIV advocate and Hollywood legend in new Lifetime movie

The first picture of Hollywood bisexual actress Lindsay Lohan playing the legendary HIV activist and film star Elizabeth Taylor has been released.

The film Liz and Dick, also featuring True Blood actor Grant Bowler, tells the tumultuous love story between classic movie actress Elizabeth Taylor and Welsh actor Richard Burton.

'I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor,' Lohan said in a statement. 'She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role.'
