British soul legend Omar to headline UK Black Pride

UK Black Pride 2012 unveils line-up for this year's event at London's Ministry of Sound club

British Soul legend Omar, dance and funky house star Donae'o and new rapper Amplify Dot will headline UK Black Pride on 18 August.

Phyll Opoku-Gyimah, director of UK Black Pride, expressed her excitement at having Omar as a headline act.

‘He is one of the UK's most pioneering and authentic musical talents and will crown UK Black Pride at the world class Ministry of Sound,’ said Opoku-Gyimah.

Police are worried London’s gay clubbers may be offered contaminated drugs after one man died and three others had to be hospitalized in just one night.

As Gay Star News reported yesterday, the man who died and two others who fell ill were at gay scene venues in Vauxhall, south London – an area popular with clubbers.

Organizers of 18-day London gay pride festival say they are exploring 'other options' after cancelling event in Clapham Common

A gay pride event planned to coincide with the Olympics in London has been cancelled due to 'a lack of sponsorship and headline entertainment'.

The 18-day Pride House festival was originally planned to be held in the UK capital's Clapham Common park from 26 July to 12 August.
