Trans woman says she's still 'fabulous' after four men beat her up late at night, suffering severe injuries to her face and ribs

A 21-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of being one of the four men who brutally beat up a trans woman in Hollywood last month.

Nicol Shakhnazaryan was arrested last week as LAPD detectives on suspicion of felony battery of a woman, identified in published reports 22-year-old Vivian Diego.

His bail is set at $1.05 million (€802k).

His arrest was made three days after Los Angeles city leaders announced a $25,000 (€19.1k) reward for any information leading to the violent beating.

Transgender people arrested in LA will be housed in a women's jail for their 'safety'.

By the end of the month, the Los Angeles Police Department will open a women’s module at its downtown Metropolitan Detention Center with a special section for up to 24 transgender detainees.

Captain Dave Lindsay, commander of the department’s jail division, made the announcement last night (12 April) at a meeting in Hollywood between transgender people and police Chief Charlie Beck and members of the city’s Police Commission.
