Another chance to watch the viral HMS Ocean Christmas video - because GSN loves a camp sing-a-long

Gay Star News loved this video so much last year that we decided to release it this Christmas as well.

The HMS Ocean battleship’s camp mime-along to Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas became a YouTube hit.

And gay celebrities got in on the excitement, with Lord of the Rings star Sir Ian McKellen sharing it with Anthony Cotton – from long-running TV soap Coronation Street and the original UK Queer As Folk.

‘It was glorious and made me laugh and cry with joy,’ said Cotton, who put the link out via Twitter.

I gave myself a mere 12 hours. After all, if Santa can span the globe in just one night and still have time to stop for a sherry and mince pie, I should be able to jingle all the way around the British capital without so much as a ‘Bah humbug’.

GSN’s guide to gift giving this Christmas

It’s undeniable that each year it seems to get earlier and earlier that the decorations go up, the carols are played on repeat and Mariah Carey releases another version of ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’.

Whether this fills you with seasonal joy or scrooge-like gloom, at some point you are going to have to turn your thoughts to Christmas presents.
