'…You have courts that are taking away the very essence of our democracy, the ground from which this great country came...'

Poor Pat Robertson. His Thanksgiving meal will be extra salty due to tears.

His TV show, The 700 Club, ran a segment about the Pilgrims, the religious sect associated with the end of November US holiday.

According to Right Wing Watch, after the clip the televangelist moaned about how the work of the Pilgrims, and Founding Fathers, is being destroyed by judges who support marriage equality.

Sweaty, sexy gay holiday fun in San Francisco, Chicago and New York

Thanksgiving week is considered one of the US's biggest for clubbing – and this year, gay partiers are spoilt for choice with events every night this week in all the major cities. Here are seven holiday blowouts that have caught our eye…

One of the most fascinating historic LGBTI cultures in the world

As I prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday, I am reminded of the autumnal harvest time’s spiritual significance. As a time of connectedness, I pause to acknowledge what I have to be thankful for. But I also reflect on the holiday as a time of remembrance – historical and familial.

Belgraves, a Thompson Hotel, in London inspires us to ditch thrifty at-home shenanigans and how to do a proper date, day out or dinner that will impress the pants off anyone

Yes times are tough. And yes, travel is expensive.

But I'm sure your home city has some amazing places you don’t know about, or have seen online, but have been too lazy to step away from Netflix to plan a visit.

I’ve lived in Los Angeles, New York, and now London, and I know there are millions of bars, restaurants and cool places to visit I never had the pleasure of taking a selfie in.

DOMA plaintiff was among those invited to State Dinner for President of France

President Barack Obama was flying in Air Force One last June when he placed a call to Edie Windsor to congratulate her on making history.

It was the day that because of Windsor's landmark lawsuit, the US Supreme Court gutted the anti-gay Defense of Marriage Act. She sued the US government for denying her tax benefits after the death of her spouse of 42 years, Thea Spyer.

This week, Windsor and Obama met face-to-face for the first time and the president invited the 83-year-old LGBTI icon into the Oval Office for a private chat.

Twitter and Facebook filled with Thanksgiving thoughts

Just five months ago, Steve Grand was unknown.

So the openly gay singer who became a YouTube sensation in July with his video All-American Boy is feeling especially grateful this Thanksgiving.

'I'd like to wish all of you a very special Thanksgiving!' Grand wrote in a Facebook post to supporters on Thursday (28 November).

We check out the Picasso Museum, have cocktails and tapas, visit Barcelonetta Beach and breakfast at La Boqueria market on a short break to Barcelona

I think it is probably illegal to go to bed early with a good book in Barcelona. Something about an early night is just wrong in the land of flamenco, fiestas and nights out starting at midnight. But no fear, a little bit of sun and some Gypsy King music and I am back in my 20s – flinging caution to the wind, staying up all hours and quaffing too much red wine.

Gay Star News has surveyed the world’s gay men to get an insight into how they start their day

It may sound slightly trivial, but I’m always fascinated by what people eat, how they make decisions about food and what are some of the assumptions that people are making about the food that they’re eating.

This week I’ve surveyed 100 gay men around the world to find our what they have for breakfast. It may not be the most rigorous of studies, but it’s a pretty strong sample of gay men primarily in the 25 to 45 age bracket and a good mix of global locations including the US, Canada, Australia, Great Britain, France, Denmark, the Netherlands and Belgium.

Want to get lean and strong? It’s time to embrace all things Italian

I have spent too many years of my life miserably scanning restaurant menus for low-carb, low-fat and, inevitably, low-fun meal options.

What I’ve never understood is that when you travel through Mediterranean countries, and it was Italy where it particularly hit me, the men are generally lean and athletic and they are happily chowing into big bowls of pasta. Some bread with that? Sure! Wash it down with some wine at lunch? No problem!

As I contemplate a dry chicken salad, the injustice is infuriating.
