Director Mike Buonaiuto questions why same-sex parent families go unrecognised in Europe

Today (5 November) sees the launch of a new campaign focusing on gay parenting rights throughout Europe.

The short film, entitled Invisible Parents, features the voice of a woman reminiscing about a happy childhood with her two fathers, before stating that the majority of Europe does not recognize families with gay parents.

The film is directed by Mike Buonaiuto, the man behind Homecoming, the video that went viral earlier this year. Invisible Parents launches to coincide with the UK's National Adoption Week.

New film hopes to raise support for the rights of same-sex parents

A behind the scenes trailer for a new documentary about same-sex parenting has been released on YouTube.

Invisible Parents is directed by Mike Buonaiuto, who also released a short feature film earlier in the year in support of same-sex marriage.

The teaser, available now online, features behind the scenes footage on the new film along with an interview with Buonaiuto.

The film is supported by organisations such as Pink Parenting and the Network of European LGBT Families Associations (NELFA).

The filmmaker behind one of the biggest viral videos of the year is looking for funds to create a gay adoption movie.

Viewed over 800,000 times since being released in April, Homecoming told the story of a soldier returning home to propose to his boyfriend.

Paloma Faith has become the latest celebrity to record a video for the Out4Marriage campaign that calls for equal marriage for gay and straight couples.

Paloma Faith, whose single Picking Up the Pieces entered the UK Top 40 at number seven yesterday, said: ‘I'm Paloma Faith and I'm really proud to be backing the Out4Marriage campaign.

'I don't think it matters whether you're black, white, Asian, straight, gay, bisexual, hermaphrodite, tranny, diva, whatever you are, you should have the right to get married.’

I’ve often heard that a powerful idea can be all that matters to inspire art and for me that couldn’t be more spot on.

I watched the news like everyone else, showing thousands of British soldiers returning home from battle, reunited with their loved ones. It was then that it struck me that all those men and women fight for the UK, yet a proportion of them who just happen to be gay cannot engage in one of our country’s most celebrated traditions; marriage.

British Coalition for Equal Marriage supporting new military-themed commercial

A teaser for a new advert supporting lesbian and gay marriage equality in Britain has been released.

Director Mike Buonaiuto is producing the commercial to run on YouTube - starting in the next two weeks - in support of the campaign for equal marriage rights.

The commercial will show members of the British forces arriving home and being greeted by their loved ones. It will attempt to rally support from Facebook and Twitter, using the hashtag #equalmarriage.
