David Bowie’s celebrated refrain 'We can be heroes, just for one day' is the key message behind the London Gay Men’s Chorus (LGMC) new concert.

Honouring the people who have contributed to bettering the everyday lives of the LGBT community, the aptly titled Heroes will be performed at Cadogan Hall in the UK capital from the 24 to 25 May.

Liberace's former lover Scott Thorson talks about their relationship while he faces prison for burglary and identity theft

The man whose book is the basis for the upcoming HBO film on entertainer Liberace will not be able to watch it. His prison doesn't have the channel.

Scott Thorson, Liberace's ex-lover, has been in a Nevada jail since this past February. He is charged with buying a computer and cell phone with a credit card that wasn't his. Last Wednesday (8 May) he pleaded guilty and asked to be placed in a rehabilitation program. Punishment could range from probation to 2 to 30 years in prison.

Remarks fan widespread Joe Simpson gay rumors

Nick Lachey, as famous for his marriage to Jessica Simpson as for being part of the band 98 Degrees, fanned the flames this week of widespread rumors that Simpson's father is gay.

Asked in the Bravo show Watch What Happens Live what he misses the least about being Joe Simpson's son-in-law Lachey said: 'I don’t have to play grab-ass under the table on Easter Sunday!'

The remark came during a segment called Plead the Fifth and host Andy Cohen was so taken aback by the response that he blushed.

The all-boy Ukranian pop group Kazaky announces their new album titled ‘I Like It’

Kazaky has announced their second album release scheduled for June 2013.

According to the group's management, ‘I Like It’ promises to be ‘in the genre of synth-pop and hip-hop’ and will be ‘even more danceable’ than their 2012 debut album ‘The Hills Chronicles.’

Frank Ocean, one of the biggest LGBT names in rap, is being inspired by the past for the follow up to his critically acclaimed album Channel Orange.

While he won’t share any details about the project, he revealed classic bands such as The Beatles and the Beach Boys were inspiring him.

Speaking to MTV News, he said: ‘When I was making the first [album] there were a group of artists that I listened to, just for inspiration and to absorb the energies,’ he said.

With bookies Paddy Power offering odds on an ABBA reunion, it could be a case of the Winner Takes It All

Gimme, Gimme, Gimme odds on an ABBA comeback! Agnetha Fältskog has hinted at a band reunion and the bookies are already taking bets.

Fältskog, the blonde one, was asked by Die Zeit Magazine if she would join an ABBA reunion, and said she was open to it.

‘Maybe a charity concert? I would not say “No” right away,’ she said.

Speculation has grown given the opening of the ABBA Museum, scheduled for 7 May in Stockholm.

And some have suggested the band may reunite to open the Eurovision Song Contest show in Malmo, Sweden.

LGBT ally is excited over the release of her brand new record, scheduled for September

American singer-songwriter Cher is soon to release her 26th album.

On Sunday (21 April), the 66-year-old took to Twitter to report on her album’s progress, tweeting ‘I JUST FINISHED MY CD!’

The as yet untitled album was originally scheduled for release in March, but Warner Bros. Records say it will now be released in September.

It is the popular gay icon’s latest studio album since the release of Living Proof in 2001. 

A teaser track for the album, called ‘Woman’s World’, was released last November.

A Norwegian comedy show tricked five young fans of the Canadian heartthrob to win free tickets for his concert in Oslo

Five teen girls were the unwitting victims in a TV show’s stunt which saw them ‘convert to Islam’ in order to receive free Justin Bieber concert tickets.

On a Norwegian comedy show, the young fans were forced to remove their make-up, put on hijabs, and repeat ‘Justin Bieber is impure and probably gay’ in Arabic.

The show’s host Ann-Kat Haerland defended the show, saying: ‘We wanted to find out how far Norwegian “Beliebers” are willing to go for tickets to one of Bieber’s concert.

Legendary gay pop singer-songwriter Elton John’s stage outfits will be given their own dressing room at a festival this year.

The ‘I’m Still Standing’ singer was confirmed as a headline act at Bestival, a four-day annual festival held on the Isle of Wight, England.

Record producer and organizer Rob Da Bank has claimed the star has not made any ‘diva-like’ demands.

‘It wasn’t too complicated to get Elton booked – no diva-ish antics or crazy demands,’ he told the Daily Star.

Rapper T-Pain has called out ‘homophobic idiots’ on Twitter in a defense of his gay assistant.

The ‘Low’ rapper, born Faheem Najm, is believed to have written the tweets after his assistant was bullied online.

‘Attention homophobic idiots: if you're not attractive to straight women, you're probably not attractive to gay men. You can unclench now,’ T-Pain wrote.

The family of a West Hollywood attorney who died over the weekend from bacterial meningitis is blasting a city councilman for making what they say were 'sensationalist and erroneous public statements' about the victim.

Councilman John Duran tells Gay Star News he meant no disrespect to the victim or his family. He says his priority was public safety in a city with a large population of gay men.

Brett Shaad, 33, was taken off of life support on Saturday (13 April) and died later that day at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Beverly Hills.

Georganne LaPiere, the younger sister of Cher and onetime star of the daytime soap General Hospital, says she initially had trouble understanding Chaz Bono's desire to transition from female to male.

'I hate to admit it, but between my macho firefighter husband and myself, he was the one who never had any problem with Chaz’s transition,' LaPiere tells Gay Star News. The Wanted’s Tom Parker has called on One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson to come out as gay.

The two British boybands reignited their feud on Twitter in the early hours of this morning (8 April), when Parker questioned why One Direction kept making references to The Wanted on their tour.

After several low blows, with Tomlinson telling Parker to ‘enjoy the press’ from the argument, Parker responded by implying the 21-year-old heartthrob is gay.

Maná, the hugely popular Mexican rock band, has come out in support of gay marriage.

It is 19 years to the day that Kurt Cobain, best known as the singer of Nirvana, committed suicide.

Since his death, he influenced several music artists not only by his music, but his passion for gay rights.

Cobain, who shot himself when he was 27 and would have been 46 today, told people to not buy his music if they were homophobic.

In one of his journals, he said: ‘I am not gay, although I wish I were, just to piss off homophobes.’

Alternative rock band Garbage decided to stop their concert midway for a very special announcement about two of their fans.

Scottish singer Shirley Manson stopped the concert Saturday night (30 March) in Detroit and brought out two men named Dominic and Scott on the stage.

In the YouTube video, the ‘World Is Not Enough’ singer is seen describing how Scott contacted the band on Facebook and told them how ‘super amazing’ his boyfriend is.

The iconic West-Coast rapper gave another interview where he speaks openly about his support for same-sex marriage


Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg has again spoken out in support of gay marriage.

In an interview with the Huffington Post, the artist now known as Snoop Lion discussed his new documentary, a new upcoming album and his take on the Supreme Court hearings on California’s Prop. 8 legislation that bans gay marriage.

One of the founders of West-Coast hip-hop, Snoop said in his interview: ‘People can do what they want and as they please’.
