The electro-pop singer joins the Rocket Man singer on his North American tour this autumn

Bright Light Bright Light, aka Rod Thomas, will open for Elton John's US leg of his 2014 tour.

Already friends in addition to collaborators, the Welsh musician recently featured Elton John on his single I Wish We Were Leaving, part of his latest album Life Is Easy released on 8 July.

In an interview Thomas revealed he’s already done some UK tour dates with John, and is looking forward to opening for the gay icon in America.

‘[John] took me on the road for some July dates, because that was the time of the release of the album.

Torchwood star calls You Raise Me Up 'the best album that I've ever, ever made'

When John Barrowman was dropped by his record company, the multi-talented performer simply placed more focus on his television acting and hosting work.

But his fans wanted a new album from the Arrow and Torchwood star and they let him know that.

The result is his new album You Raise Me Up which is selling well. It has 11 tracks including such songs as Listen to the Music, Mandy, Bridge Over Troubled Water and 1000 Years (see video below).

The prison warden turned X Factor star joins a line-up of yesteryear and today’s hottest stars performing at Brighton and Hove Pride 2014

Last year’s X Factor winner Sam Bailey has been announced as one of the headline acts for Brighton Pride’s closing party.

She will perform in one of Britain’s biggest LGBTI hubs located on the south coast, joining a line-up of confirmed pop stars and a newly revamped Pride progam.

The British singer talks about labels, and fear of press intrusion if she talks about her partners

British pop star La Roux has opened up about her sexuality, saying she does not identify with any of the LGBT labels.

‘I don't feel like I belong to any of those. So I'm not going to put myself in that camp, or under that title,’ she said.

‘I don't feel one thing or the other, I don't feel man, I don't feel woman – that's where the androgyny comes from.

‘I probably feel more feminine than I do masculine… but if people want to hold me up as a gay role model, absolutely, I'm proud to be that, but I don't feel the need to say that I'm gay to do it.’

All-American Boy singer wants to 'make sure I get it just right'

Steve Grand had hoped to be releasing his debut album right about now.

But the openly gay singer who propelled himself to fame with his self-released hit All-American Boy said the album will take a little longer than planned and will now likely be out by late summer.

Grand launched a Kickstarter campaign earlier this year hoping to raise $81,000 to record his album independently. He ended up raising a whopping $326,593, the most ever for a music project.

British lesbian artist says while it is great political points are made, she says she could never see herself representing the UK

English lesbian singer and actress Heather Peace has said UK artists shouldn’t bother entering the Eurovision Song Contest.

The 38-year-old artist, who found fame on Waterloo Road and Lip Service, has revealed she would never dare enter into as the UK representative to the camp competition.

Peace is about to release her second album, The Thin Line.

‘You might as well not bother if you’re British,’ she told Gay Star News.

‘You’re going in knowing there’s absolutely no chance, what’s the point?’

The Very Best of Adam Lambert will include three performances from American Idol

Adam Lambert has been plenty busy in 2014 filming episodes of Glee and preparing a tour with the surviving members of Queen.

One thing he has not done lately is release a new album.

But Sony Legacy is taking care of that - sort of.

The parent company of the singer's former label, RCA, is releasing a 14-track collection of Lambert's greatest hits and more on 27 May titled The Very Best of Adam Lambert.

Wham! singer says unlike the popular phrase these days, after he came out life did not 'get better'

George Michael has dated a man for 13 years, was caught cruising, and looked like this in the 80s.

But that has still not convinced some of his family members who still think he might one day ‘find the right girl’.

The ‘Careless Whisper’ hitmaker came out as gay back in 1998 and has lived openly ever since.

But the 50-year-old says some relatives simply refuse to believe it.

Speaking to the BBC, Michael said: ‘For some strange reason, my gay life didn't get easier when I came out. Quite the opposite happened, really.

Wham singer slams EastEnders for its treatment of gay characters and reveals he has been off cannabis for at least a year-and-a-half

Gay singer George Michael has revealed how fame nearly sent him mad.

The British Wham singer also said he has stopped his drug-taking lifestyle and not used cannabis for ‘well over a year-and-a-half’.

The 50-year-old has said recent health scares and time spent in prison shocked him into changing his life.

Speaking to The Big Issue, Michael was asked about how he felt the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton – wife to Prince William – was doing as he was a good friend of the late Princess Diana.

Openly gay YouTube sensation has raised more than $183,000 - and counting - for dream project

Steve Grand had hoped to raise $81,000 on Kickstarter in order to complete his debut album.

Instead, the YouTube sensation ended up making history.

Grand announced to his fans today that their outpouring of financial support has resulted in his upcoming album becoming one of the top 10 most funded projects in Kickstarter history.

As of today, $183,500 has been raised with 17 days of the campaign remaining.

Popular BBC One drama TV show actress decided to put her acting career aside and concentrate on her music

Lesbian favorite Heather Peace has teased a brand new gay anthem on her upcoming album.

The Waterloo Road actress has quit the BBC One school drama show to focus on second record and UK tour.

Peace's last episode of appearing as popular teacher Nikki Boston will be 12 March.

She said: 'I've been two-jobs-Peace for almost 20 years and it felt like time to put my music first.

He tells fans: 'I am so humbled; so grateful for your outpouring of love and support'

Determined to make an album without a record label, Steve Grand turned to his fans for help.

They came through.

In just 17 hours, the goal of $85,000 was raised through Grand's Kickstarter campaign.

The total has since climbed to past $115,000.

In a Facebook message, Grand described himself as 'speechless.'

Gay icon Kylie Minogue has made gay dreams come true, surprising one lucky fan with a performance at his local London gym.

Adam Milner was working out at The Factory Gym and Dance Centre without realizing his fellow gym bunnies were actually backing dancers.

With a burst of a glitter cannon, the petite pop singer showed up to sing her new single Into The Blue especially for him.

The 28 year old had contemplated suicide when he was younger but now wishes he had come out sooner

Ryan Dolan, the Irish singer who made it to the finals of the Eurovision Song Contest last year with his song Only Love Survives, has come out publicly as gay.

'It’s not a big deal anymore,' the 28-year-old Dolan told Radio One today. 'Things have changed compared to even when I was in school. Young people are coming out now at 15 or 16 which would never have happened when I was at school.'

The Grammy award-winning singer will shake her tambourines and show us who’s that girl at this year’s Palm Springs Dinah Shore party

E-V-E has been announced as the main act for Dinah Shore’s Black Party on Saturday 5 April.

Billed as the world’s biggest lesbian festival, the Dinah Shore program has been taking over Palm Springs, California for 24 years, and this April promises to blow the roof off the party.

Already confirmed for performances are Australian hip-hop ingénue Iggy Azalea and Canadian lesbian pop twins Tegan and Sara.

Symphonica, just his sixth solo album, will be released in March

George Michael, who began his solo career 27 years ago, announced Monday (20 January) that he is releasing a new album entitled Symphonica on 17 March.

It will be just his sixth solo album and is produced by Michael and the late legendary music producer Phil Ramone.

The album was recorded while Michael was on a concert tour of the same name in 2011 and 2012.

On the same day as the album's release, the lead single Let Her Down Easy will be available on iTunes and other digital platforms.

Rapper and Australian singer/songwriter will be releasing a heartbreaking empowerment anthem at the end of February

Bisexual stars Angel Haze and Sia Furler have teamed up for a new single.

The rapper and Australian singer will release ‘Battle Cry’, an empowerment anthem, on 24 February.

Explaining her discussion to work with Furler, she said she was a fan of her song ‘Breathe Me’.

‘When I was feeling suicidal, I’d go to sleep with that song,’ she said.

‘And I’d either feel like my entire world was closing in on me or, in some strange euphoric way, I was becoming stronger.’

US punk band Against Me! have unleashed their first album since lead singer Laura Jane Grace revealed her true gender identity.

Their sixth album Transgender Dysphoria Blues will reveal Grace's struggles to come out, with song titles such as True Trans Soul Rebel.

In the May 2012 Rolling Stone interview, Grace spoke about her transition from male to female and experiencing gender dysphoria as a child.

After decades away, LGBT favorite ABBA could reunite to celebrate their legacy

Legendary Swedish pop group ABBA is considering a reunion to mark the 40th anniversary of the band’s first hit Waterloo.

They have not performed together for 27 years, but Agnetha Faltskog has said they are mulling over getting back together to celebrate their legacy.

The last time they were even seen in public together was 2008 for the release of ABBA musical film 'Mamma Mia'.

Faltskog, who formed ABBA in 1972 with guitarist and songwriter Bjorn Ulvaeus, told a German newspaper about future possible plans.

In his new record Swings Both Ways, the lyrics poke fun as his camp, 'gay' persona. There have been rumors for years about the Take That star's sexuality.

British hip-hop act reveal they cannot listen to similar acts to them as they are often too homophobic and misogynistic

As Eminem is winning praise for using ‘fags’ in his lyrics, a British hip-hop act has revealed their hate for the scene as it is too homophobic.

Rizzle Kicks, arguably the biggest hip-hop stars in the UK, have said they ‘can’t listen’ to similar acts to them.

Band member Jordon Stephens, 21, told the BBC the stuff he was hearing in the mainstream ‘does [his] head in]’ as ‘it’s overly misogynistic and it’s still homophobic.’

‘I can’t listen to hip-hop at the moment,’ he added. ‘I really struggle.’
