Former Glee star Charice Pempengco's mother's comments indicate she doesn't understand and is not fully supportive of her daughter's sexuality

The mother of Filipina popstar and former Glee star Charice Pempengco, who came out as a lesbian last week, said that she used to be a lesbian too.

Raquel Pempengco said at at press conference in her home in Marikina City on Friday (7 June) that she used to have female lovers but her mother, Tess Relucio, pressurized her to marry a man and start a family.

Raquel and Ricky Pempengco ended-up separating and the couple's children, Charice and her brother Carl, were raised in their grandmother's house.

Charice Pempengco, who played Sunshine Corazon during the 2010-2011 seasons of Glee, has thanked her fans for staying with her after she came out as a lesbian.

The X Factor Philippines judge told a Philippines television show, ‘Yes, I’m a lesbian,' on June 2.

‘Now I feel free. I can go out of the house without fear and certain that I’m not stepping on anybody’s toe.’

Finland is used to sending ballad after ballad to the annual popfest extravaganza that is the Eurovision Song Contest.

They have broken the mold two times. The first, when they sent a band called Lordi wearing monster costumes and playing heavy rock, and now, when they have sent a pop princess fighting for equal marriage.

After graduating from Pennsylvania-based liberal arts college Swarthmore, Baker won a $25,000 (US dollars, €19,000) Watson Fellowship that allows her to travel the world pursuing a particular project.

New York City DJ  Mister Cee will go on Hot 97's morning to show to explain his arrest for soliciting a male prostitute

Mister Cee, a popular DJ at the New York City radio station Hot 97, was reportedly arrested last week for soliciting a male prostitute.

According to the website Rod 2.0 (who linked to a Daily News article), the 46 year-old allegedly approached an undercover police officer. Cee, whose legal name is Calvin LeBrun, will appear on the station's morning show tomorrow (6 April) to explain last week's events.

The all-boy Ukranian pop group Kazaky announces their new album titled ‘I Like It’

Kazaky has announced their second album release scheduled for June 2013.

According to the group's management, ‘I Like It’ promises to be ‘in the genre of synth-pop and hip-hop’ and will be ‘even more danceable’ than their 2012 debut album ‘The Hills Chronicles.’

A Norwegian comedy show tricked five young fans of the Canadian heartthrob to win free tickets for his concert in Oslo

Five teen girls were the unwitting victims in a TV show’s stunt which saw them ‘convert to Islam’ in order to receive free Justin Bieber concert tickets.

On a Norwegian comedy show, the young fans were forced to remove their make-up, put on hijabs, and repeat ‘Justin Bieber is impure and probably gay’ in Arabic.

The show’s host Ann-Kat Haerland defended the show, saying: ‘We wanted to find out how far Norwegian “Beliebers” are willing to go for tickets to one of Bieber’s concert.

Fher Olvera, the lead singer of Grammy-award winning band Maná, said: ‘all expressions of love are important’

Maná, the hugely popular Mexican rock band, has come out in support of gay marriage.

Earlier this week the band’s vocalist and guitarist Fher Olvera took to Facebook to send a positive message to the group’s eight million followers and fans.

Olvera, who married his wife Mónica Noguera last year, also included a link to a Youtube video from 2009 where New York state senator Diane Savino gave an inspiring speech about the then-pending marriage equality bill.

'Livin La Vida Loca' star will replace Keith Urban on the Australian singing competition show's second season

Gay Latino star Ricky Martin will be joining the coaching panel of The Voice for the Australian show’s second season.

The ‘Livin La Vida Loca’ singer’s new role after the superstar hinted at the role on Twitter yesterday (29 November).

‘Sending some mad love to everyone in #Australia! Can't wait to go back! Peace!’ he said.

He will replace country singer Keith Urban, who left the role in September to become a judge on American Idol.

Viacom-owned channel makes decision after reality show star's anti-gay comments in the back of a taxi were made

Paris Hilton's comments about gay men and AIDS have made her an unwelcome presence on the LGBT-themed cable network Logo.

Logo, owned by Viacom, is a sister channel to MTV and had planned to air the special Paris Hilton Inc. but will no longer do so, according to The New York Post.

Gay Australian pop icon Kylie Minogue has premiered her new music video today (25 September).

The ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ singer has released ‘Flower’ as the lead track from her upcoming celebration album The Abbey Road Sessions.

Minogue is offering the new song as a free download for fans who pre-order the album on iTunes.

Shot in black and white, it shows the singer getting in touch with nature as she walks through woods, and wades through water.

Don Philip's voice no longer what it was when he sang with Spears

When Don Philip faced Britney Spears on this week's season premiere on Fox's The X Factor, he was asked what had happened to him in the 12 years since he has recorded a duet with the pop star and now TV show judge.

'At the time I didn't think I was worthy,’ Philip said of when he last saw Spears.

That's the part that TV viewers saw. What they didn't see was the rest of what he said: ‘I didn't think you thought it was okay that I am gay.’

Spears then said: ‘I think it is fine you are gay.’

Aussie pop princess will release Flower, an orchestral ballad which fans heard on Minogue's X Tour

Gay pop icon Kylie Minogue is preparing to release a new single in September.

It was announced today (28 August) that the Australian, loved by gays and straights alike, will release a studio version of ‘Flower’.

The ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’ singer performed the ballad during her 2008 X tour but the song never made it onto the dance-heavy album.

Gay icon Barbra Streisand surprises fans by announcing the release of previously unheard music

Barbra Streisand is set to release an album of previously unreleased material from her personal vault next month.

The 11-track album, titled Release Me, will be available on vinyl from 25 September and on CD on 9 October and will feature tracks from right across the 70-year-old’s career from 1963 to the present day.

In a press release, a spokesperson said: 'Many of the sessions for these albums yielded extra recordings, which weren’t included on the albums they were intended for.'

Christina Aguilera’s long-awaited new single has been leaked online, and it seems the Dirrty singer has gone back to her old ways.

The single, Your Body, sees the Genie in a Bottle singer go for a club-inspired number with plenty of synth and steamy lyrics.

Posting the leaked demo version on his website, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton said: ‘WHOAHHH GIRL!!! There are some SEXplicit lyrics in this song…if we are hearing correctly!’

Burlesque star Christina Aguilera has tweeted a teaser pic from the photoshoot of her forthcoming album.

The photo suggests that a real change of direction is on the cards for the blonde bombshell after her lowest performing album to date, Bionic, was released in 2010.

Aguilera has remained tight-lipped about the project, despite her high-profile appearances on US talent show The Voice.

Newly out and proud singer suffers from a serious case of writer's block in video for first track from new album The Origin of Love

Gay pop singer Mika, who finally came out last week, has unveiled the music video for his comeback single Celebrate.

The song, which is a collaboration with hip-hop star Pharrell, is taken from his new album The Origin of Love.

In the video released today (10 August), Mika is seen suffering from a serious case of writers block.

After throwing a small forest's worth of musical scribblings on to the floor around him, he heads off into the night looking for inspiration at various parties and nightclubs.
