They were always there for each other. But were they there for you?

Friends is 20 years old. And it is still as popular as ever. On one TV channel, somewhere in the world, people are probably going commando, drinking coffee and asking 'How you doing?'

But while the hugely successful NBC sitcom is loved by many all over the world, it has its critics - especially LGBTI critics.

One video editor, Tijana Mamula, watched all 10 seasons of Friends to compile all of the gay jokes into one 50 minute video. And, to an extent, it does show how much homophobia and transphobia is in the show.

It happens, sort of, in brilliant new video mash-up Golden is The New Black

Dorothy, Blanche, Rose and Sophia are nowhere to be seen in a new video mash-up to the classic theme song of the legendary NBC sitcom The Golden Girls.

Instead, we have Orange is the New Black's Piper, Galina, Nicky and Suzanne 'Crazy Eyes' Warren who actually urinates during the song. That's something you would never have seen any of The Golden Girls do.

Well, maybe Sophia.

This past week a gay couple in Philadelphia was attacked by a group of men and women.

According to the site Philly.com, on 11 September two victims, both in their late 20s, were walking near 16th and Chancellor Streets (located in the Center City neighborhood of the city).

Singer is promoting her latest album, Partners, to be released next week

The last time Barbra Streisand appeared on NBC's The Tonight Show, John F. Kennedy was president of the US, The Beatles hadn't yet come to America and albums were only being released on vinyl.

Now, more than 50 years later, Streisand will return to the show which has been hosted by Jimmy Fallon since February.

The 72-year-old music legend and gay icon has an ulterior motive: she is promoting the release of her latest album, Partners, which comes out a day after her appearance on 15 September.

Now that she has begun a role on the CBS daytime soap The Young and the Restless, she realizes she had it easy back then.

With Glee winding down its run, star has a second steady gig to fall back on

Jane Lynch is now a two-time Emmy winner.

The actress, who won her first Emmy for her portrayal of Sue Sylvester on Glee, picked up the second trophy Saturday (16 August) night for hosting NBC's Hollywood Game Night.

While the Primetime Emmys will be handed out next Sunday (24 August), many categories were presented at Saturday's Creative Arts Emmys at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Lynch won in the category of Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality-Competition Program.

Last month, the actor said he was 'uncomfortable' kissing a man on screen and that there were 'a whole bunch' of risks playing 'a homosexual on network television' and not as many rewards.

Michael Arden, currently a regular on TV’s Anger Management, went to great lengths to plan a marriage proposal to actor Andy Mientus who was one of the stars of NBC's Smash.

What he didn't know was that Mientus had an elaborate plan of his own.

Mientus is appearing on Broadway in the 2014 revival of Les Misérables and when he had a break, the currently bi-coastal couple made plans to meet up in England for a holiday.

Luke Macfarlane, who came to fame as Scotty on ABC's Brothers & Sisters, is back on US network television.

He is again playing a gay character but this time he is a military man on NBC's new hospital drama The Night Shift.

His character of Rick is involved with a semi-closeted doctor named Drew - a former military man - who is played by Brendan Fehr.

Brendan Fehr played a gay prostitute in the sexually explicit 2004 film Sugar. Yet he says he was 'uncomfortable' about some aspects of his role as a closeted gay doctor in the new NBC drama The Night Shift.

Fehr, best known for the cult classic TV series Roswell, seemed to be most challenged by filming his first on-screen kiss with a man.

Chandler Massey has won his third consecutive Emmy Sunday for his acclaimed performance as gay college student and young father Will Horton on NBC’s Days of Our Lives.

The actor, who left the show last fall, used humor to diffuse what could have been an awkward moment after producers of the show showed a clip of his successor in the role, Guy Wilson, when announcing his name as a nominee.

'Did you see my reel? That was great!' Massey quipped as he took the stage to accept the trophy.

Approximately two years ago Mary Kristene Chapa and Mollie Judith Olgin, were found in Texas park; both shot in the head

A suspect has been arrested in the Portland, Texas shooting of two young lesbians.

As reported by NBC News, 27-year-old David Malcolm Strickland was taken into custody by US Marshals and Texas Rangers, on 20 June, in a suburb of San Antonio.

He's facing charges of capital murder, aggravated assault with a weapon, and aggravated sexual assault.

Martin Sheen, who for many years played the president of the US in NBC's The West Wing, is returning to series television as a gay man.

Sheen will play the husband of Jane Fonda in the upcoming Netflix comedy series Grace and Frankie which also stars Lily Tomlin, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Fonda and Tomlin play women who are each others nemesis but find their lives intertwined when their law partner husbands each leaves them - for each other.

David Bucher and Bruce Moats have become the first same-sex couple to marry in a religious service in the chapel of the US Naval Academy in Maryland

Gulf War veteran David Bucher has married his long term partner Bruce Moats at the US Naval Academy – making them the first same-sex couple to do so in its chapel.

Naval Academy Chaplain Lieutenant John Connolly presided over the ceremony on Saturday in which Bucher, 49, and Moats, 50, married.

The ceremony consisted of formal prayers, a reading from the book of Corinthians and the US Navy Hymn.
