Litchfield ladies pick their codenames for Red Nose Day

The stars of Orange Is The New Black are planning their own mastermind heist in a killer new Reservoir Dogs parody.

The sketch for NBC's Red Nose Day telethon brings the Netflix series together, including lesbian actress Lea DeLaria, for a reworking of the Quentin Tarantino film.

Reservoir Bitches sees the Litchfield inmates planning the crime, but they're a little bit annoyed about their code names.

This is one of several comedy sketches produced by Funny or Die for the three-hour primetime fundraiser.

Gay icon did her first of many guest spots with Letterman 29 years ago

Cher made a surprise visit to The Late Show With David Letterman on Wednesday night.

The gay icon's appearance was not publicized and she simply walked out during Letterman's monologue for a few minutes of banter with the host who is retiring from the show later this month.

Cher's first appearance with Letterman was 29 years ago when his show was on NBC and she memorably called him as 'asshole.'

But even more memorable was her 1987 appearance with ex-husband Sonny Bono when the former singing partners sang in public together for the last time.

The British singer kissed actor Brent Morin after a cameo appearance on NBC's Undateable

Ed Sheeran has sent the internet into overdrive with his appearance on an American sitcom.

Following his appearance in Home & Away, the British singer has once again opted for a cameo appearance – this time on NBC’s sitcom Undateable.

Instead of paying just a short visit, Sheeran treated fans of the show to a life performance of either Thinking Out Loud or Photograph, depending on whether they live on the East- or the West Coast.

Six in ten would be enthusiastic about or comfortable with an LGBTI hopeful

Americans would feel more comfortable with an LGBTI presidential candidate than an evangelical Christian one, according to a new poll.

The latest WSJ/NBC poll asked 1,000 adults last week whether they would 'be enthusiastic,' 'be comfortable with,' 'have some reservations about' or 'be very uncomfortable with' a list of qualities of a potential leader.

Support particularly strong among young voters, Democrats and people with postgraduate education

As the US Supreme Court prepares to decide on six landmark same-sex marriage, 58% of Americans want the high court to make gay marriage legal nationwide, according to a new poll.

NBC and the Wall Street Journal asked 1,000 people last week if they favored such a ruling and 58% said yes with 44% of that number 'strongly' in favor of marriage equality.

Actor confrims to Gay Star News he's leaving Days of Our Lives but door open for his return

Freddie Smith, who plays the gay character of Sonny Kiriakis on NBC's Days of Our Lives, won his first Daytime Emmy Award on Sunday.

'This award is for the LGBT community for showing strength and courage and being an inspiration to all of us,' Smith said while accepting his award at a ceremony held on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank.

'But I don’t even think we have to ... I think he is prepared for it'

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian admitted in an interview Monday that she doesn't 'fully understand' stepdad Bruce Jenner's decision to transition to female.

'I know it’s not something you or I could really, fully understand, but I don’t even think we have to,' Kardashian said on NBC's The Today Show.

Still, Jenner said in his blockbuster interview last week that it was Kardashian who has been the most understanding of his decision of all his famous stepchildren.

Incident took place more than three decades before Tomlin publicly acknowledged being a lesbian

In the early 1970s, Lily Tomlin guested on NBC's The Tonight Show when host Johnny Carson asked her the question.

It wasn't 'Are you gay?' But it might as well have been.

Carson asked Tomlin, then one of the stars of TV's Laugh In, about being single without children.

When Tomlin answered that she wasn't interested in having kids, she remembers the audience became 'deathly still.'

Guy Wilson had to shift gears when his character of Will Horton cheated on his husband

A year ago, the characters of Will Horton and Sonny Kiriakis got married on NBC's Days of Our Lives - a first for a male couple on a US daytime soap.

The couple remains front-and-center in the fictional town of Salem but many things have happened on their way to happily ever after.

It all began to unravel when Will (played by Guy Wilson) left town for a writing job and Sonny's ex-boyfriend - a pro baseball player named Paul Narita - arrived in town for shoulder surgery.

'What if I don't like the kid? What if it turns out that it's not as cute as I wanted or as talented?'

Ellen DeGeneres said Tuesday she'd like to have kids - but not enough to actually become a parent.

DeGeneres appeared on The Today Show as executive producer of the NBC sitcom One Big Happy about a lesbian who has a child with her straight male best friend.

DeGeneres said of potential parenthood: 'I love kids. But that's such a big commitment. And it seems long-term. It seems like a commitment that you have to stick with.

Figures in support of marriage equality have almost doubled since 2004
 

Three in five Americans now support same-sex marriage, a new survey has revealed.

The Wall Street Journal/NBC poll shows figures have almost doubled to 59% since 2004, when only 30% of Americans were in favor of gay people getting married.

Conducted by Republican Bill McInturff and top Democratic consultant Fred Yang, the survey reveals a changing attitude towards supporting gay marriage in America.

The biggest change in opinion was that of Republicans whose support has risen to 40%, from 27% only two years ago.

Public figures, who make dubious claims about sexuality and prison, should not be surprised when mocked on Saturday Night Live.

Dr Ben Carson was gleefully teased in last night's, 7 March, Weekend Update segment of the NBC show.

Early last week, the potential 2016 candidate for the White House insisted, in a CNN interview, that homosexuality is 'absolutely' a choice and prison sex is the proof of the theory.

The freelance writer and journalist says that negative stereotypes can still lead to gay people being regarded as frivolous, lightweight or not serious enough for certain jobs

Starting in the 1990s, programs such as MTV’s ‘The Real World’ and NBC’s ‘Will and Grace’ helped portray gay men in a non-threatening light, and normalized the reality of being gay for millions.

At the same time, however, shows like these, and those that have followed, portrayed gay men as frivolous, irresponsible and more likely to party hard than work.

Yes, we make the masses laugh, but at our own expense.

Terry Sweeney was on show in mid-1980s - was target of terrible AIDS joke by a visiting Chevy Chase

Terry Sweeney was nowhere to be seen during NBC's recent Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary special.

He wasn't the only one of the former Not Ready for Prime Time Players to not be featured but he was the only one who is an openly gay male.

Sirius XM Radio talk show host Frank DeCaro was among those outraged by what he considered a slight.

'Leaving Terry Sweeney -- the only openly gay male cast member in the forty-year history of Saturday Night Live -- out of the anniversary special doesn't sit well with me,' DeCaro wrote in a Facebook post.

NBC News anchor falsely claimed he was in a helicopter forced down during US invasion of Iraq

Rosie O'Donnell is buying none of NBC News anchor Brian Williams' explanation for why he falsely claimed to be on a helicopter that was forced down by rocket-propelled grenade fire during the initial invasion of Iraq in 2003.

'It’s a blatant lie. It’s a Lance Armstrong lie,' O'Donnell said on Thursday's edition of ABC's The View.

Armstrong is the disgraced former Tour de France champion who for years denied using performance enhancing drugs only to later admit he had.

Says it is 'only fair to have the same rights as everybody else, then it’s a wonderful world'

Ellen DeGeneres was appearing before TV critics in Pasadena Friday when news broke that that US Supreme Court was taking on four gay marriage cases this term.

'It’s about time,' DeGeneres said from a stage in Pasadena where she was talking up the NBC sitcom One Big Happy during the TV Critics Association Winter Press Tour.

DeGeneres, who married actress Portia de Rossi in 2008 added: 'The thing that changed the civil rights movement was when white people got involved and started marching. We need everyone on our side.

Viewers of the NBC soap Days of Our Lives have been bracing themselves for the character of Sonny Kiriakis to sleep with his ex-boyfriend - closeted pro baseball player Paul Narita.

But Sonny's husband Will beats him to it in today's and Friday's episodes of the show.

It's an unexpected twist that even took the actors on the show by surprise.

Freddie Smith to be sentenced in February for  felony vehicular assault and misdemeanor driving under the influence

US soap opera star Freddie Smith has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a car crash in Ohio that left his girlfriend seriously injured.

Smith, who plays the gay character of Sonny Kiriakis on NBC's Days of Our Lives, entered pleas of guilty this week to charges of felony vehicular assault and misdemeanor driving under the influence, according to the Associated Press.

Smith will be sentenced on 18 February.

Actor plays gay character of Sonny Kiriakis on NBC's Days of our Lives

Actor Freddie Smith, who plays the gay character of Sonny Kiriakis on NBC's Days of Our Lives, has been charged with drunk driving.

The 2013 Emmy nominee was involved in a serious car crash last month in Ohio when he lost control of his car early on Route 84 in Kingsville Township.

Smith suffered minor injuries but his girlfriend, Alyssa Tabit, was critically injured and trapped in the overturned car. She and had to be airlifted to a local hospital.

She is now recovering from her injuries.

There's no denying that Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and Country music star Blake Shelton have a close relationship.

Their chemistry and mutual affection for each other is apparent to anyone who watches them each week as mentors on NBC's The Voice.

But does Shelton want to take things a step further?

Levine, last year's People Magazine sexiest man alive, seems to think so.

David Burtka had wanted to be on the first season of show but Harris nixed offer

Neil Patrick Harris and husband David Burtka are going to guest star on the smash FX series American Horror Story: Freak Show.

TVLine reports that Harris will appear in the final two episodes of the season as a chameleon salesman. Burtka will be in the season finale in part of the storyline involving a batty chanteuse played by Emmy winner Jessica Lange.

Show is based on UK series Saturday Night Takeaway but won't air on Saturday nights

Less than a year after How I Met Your Mother left the air, Neil Patrick Harris has booked his next TV gig.

The recent Tony winner will host the US version of the UK series Saturday Night Takeaway for NBC.

Ten episodes of the show have been ordered but they will not air on Saturday nights. The US version does not yet have a title and will be produced by the UK-based ITV.

Freddie Smith lost control of his car in Ohio - passenger in critical condition

Actor Freddie Smith, who plays Sonny Kiriakis on the NBC daytime soap Days of Our Lives, has been injured in a car accident that has left his female passenger in critical condition.

Smith was driving and Alyssa Tabit a passenger when he lost control of his car early Tuesday (7 October) on Route 84 in Kingsville Township, Ohio.
