TV news legend was not pleased when Cohen suggested, on live television, that perhaps Walters was too old to understand film American Hustle

Andy Cohen, host of Bravo's nightly talk show Watch What Happens Live, found out the hard way what it's like to really tick off Barbara Walters.

Cohen recalled Monday (17 November) to time he guest hosted on The View nearly two years ago and suggested to the 80-plus Walters that maybe the reason she didn't understand the film American Hustle was due to her age.

The insult happened on live television and Walters' displeasure was instant.

Former co-host is reportedly in talks to rejoin ABC talk show seven years after her very fiery exit

ABC's The View is reportedly in talks with Rosie O'Donnell, the most controversial host in the show's history, to return to the fold.

According to TMZ, O’Donnell is in 'active negotiations' to rejoin. She is the only lesbian to have been a permanent host on the show since its debut in 1997.

Laverne Cox returned to The Katie Couric Show this week and there were no awkward moments like the last time they met on the air.

Couric was widely criticized and educated on the air by Cox after asking about genitalia.

'Last time you were here, I got a lot of flack because I asked about the physical process,' Couric said. 'I learned it is very, very upsetting and that your anatomy has very little to do with your gender identity.'

Katie Couric wanted model Carmen Carrera and actress Laverne Cox, both transgender, to tell her audience about their private parts during a show that aired this week.

They refused.

Couric asked Victoria Secret model Carrera: 'Your private parts are different now, aren't they?'

Responded Carrera: 'I don't want to talk about it, it's really personal.'

She added: 'After the transition there's still life to live. I still have my career goals, I still have my family goals.'

Roberts will also be regular presence on the network's Morning Joe show

Thomas Roberts will be setting his alarm clock a lot earlier beginning 23 January.

The MSNBC anchor, one of the highest-profile openly gay journalists in television news, has been named host of the network's Way to Early show and becomes a regular contributor to Morning Joe.

Way to Early airs weekdays at 5:30 am (Eastern time) and is followed by the three-hour Morning Joe program. He replaces Brian Shactman as host.

A petition has been launched demanding that NBC add lesbian journalist Rachel Maddow to its broadcast team for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi as 'human rights correspondent.'

Truth Wins Out, a nonprofit organization that fights anti-LGBT extremism, wants Maddow on hand to deliver 'hard-hitting pieces exposing the reality of what LGBT people, political dissidents and other minorities face every day under the Putin regime.'

AJ Clemente's 'gut wrenching' gaffe has him looking for work

AJ Clemente has gone from anchoring at a tiny station in North Dakota to appearing on NBC's The Today Show in a matter of days.

But he didn't get a promotion - he got fired.

Clemente, unaware he was on the air, appeared to say 'gay fucking shit' at the start of his very first newscast as weekend anchor at the Bismarck station KFYR-TV.

He told Today's Matt Lauer and Savannah Gutherie he was struggling to practice the name of London Marathon winner Tsegaye Kebede, mangled it, then said the expletive.

Cooper's CNN colleague Howard Kurtz reports he's not interested

Anderson Cooper has not yet commented on reports that NBC News has approached him about taking over Matt Lauer's job as host of The Today Show.

But his CNN colleague Howard Kurtz, host of the show Reliable Sources, reported on Sunday (31 March) that Cooper is not interested in the gig.

Kurtz said Cooper, who hosts a nightly show Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN, prefers to stay with the cable network.

Jenna Wolfe and Stephanie Gosk are both well-known faces to viewers on NBC various news programs.

What viewers did not know until Wednesday (27 March) morning is that the two star network news journalists are a couple and are expecting a baby this summer.

Wolfe appeared on The Today Show (she co-hosts the weekend edition of the show) to share the news that she is pregnant and went public about her relationship with Gosk, a foreign correspondent.

CNN star also reportedly being considered as replacement for Matt Lauer on The Today Show

With Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show ending soon, the CNN star has some intriguing possible gigs including a show with pal Kathy Griffin and becoming host of NBC's The Today Show.

Deadline is reporting that Cooper and Griffin, who have co-hosted CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage for at least six years, filmed a pilot this week at CNN studios in New York.

Details are sketchy but it was filmed in front of a live audience that included new CNN boss Jeff Zucker.

Sam Champion, weather anchor of ABC's Good Morning America, officially married Rubem Robierb in New York City last Friday (21 December) but that was only the first step in the wedding march for the couple.

They have headed down to Miami, Florida, where they will have a New Year's Eve ceremony with a more festive, party atmosphere.

Miami is Robierb's hometown and it was at a New Year's Eve party that the couple first met.

The ceremony will be conducted by MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts, a fellow newlywed.

Tricia Macke, a news anchor for the Fox affiliate in Cincinatti, Ohio, is under fire for calling MSNBC's lesbian anchor Rachel Maddow an 'angry young man.'

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and Equality Ohio have launched a petition calling on Fox 19 to condemn comments made last month by Macke on her her Facebook page.

California Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom performs ceremony in NYC

The setting was the rooftop of Manhattan's Gansevoort Hotel on Park Ave. as MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts married his longtime partner, Patrick Abner, in New York City over the weekend.

The couple exchanged their vows in a ceremony Saturday (29 September) performed by Gavin Newsom, the Lieutenant Governor of California and former San Francisco mayor who in 2004 authorized same-sex marriages in that city which were later annulled.

'The BEST night ever with Patrick Abner,' Roberts tweeted after the ceremony. 'Thanks to the most amazing friends and family.'
