But Franklin Graham says unlike gays, he has repented and turned away from his sins

The son of evangelist Billy Graham said during an Easter Sunday television appearance that homosexuals can go to heaven if they 'repent' the sin of being gay.

Franklin Graham said on ABC's This Week: 'Franklin Graham is a sinner, and I’m no better than a gay person. I’m a sinner. But I’ve been forgiven, and I’ve turned from my sins.'

Graham, who said last month that gay couples who adopt children are trying to 'recruit' them, stood by his recent statements in support of Russian President Vladimir Putin's anti-gay propaganda law.

Bachelor Boy singer said speculation over his sexuality has 'hurt' his family, especially when he was younger

British singer and lifelong bachelor Cliff Richard has spoken out about his sexuality for the first time.

The 73-year-old, who was once hailed as the UK’s answer to Elvis Presley, has long been the subject of speculation about whether or not he’s gay.

‘It did [hurt] when I was young,’ the singer said on Australian TV show A Current Affair.

‘It hurt my family a lot, of course. But who cares? It doesn’t really matter to me any more. I have got gay friends.

Star Trek icon has worked for marriage equality, LGBT employment protections and anti-LGBTI bullying

George Takei will go where Anderson Cooper, Ricky Martin and Rosie O'Donnell have gone before.

The Star Trek icon, LGBTI activist and social media powerhouse will be presented with GLAAD's Vito Russo Award next month at the organization's New York media awards gala.

'Few voices have been as outspoken in support of equality as George Takei,'GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis said in a statement.

Star tweets before and after photos showing off nearly 50 pound weight loss

It will be a much smaller Rosie O'Donnell who returns to ABC's The View next month when a reunion of former co-hosts takes place to pay tribute to a departing Barbara Walters.

O'Donnell took to Twitter this week to update her more than 740,000 followers in her weight loss effort which has reached nearly 50 pounds.

Posting before and after photos, O'Donnell commented: 'Almost 50 lbs off – I can see it now.'

She had reached a high of 230 pounds and turned to weight loss surgery to help take off the pounds.

The only child of Cher and the late Sonny Bono opens up on RuPaul's Drag Race in appearance with his maternal grandmother

Transgender activist and actor Chaz Bono dropped by RuPaul's Drag Race to help contestants learn to conduct a celebrity interview and in the process, opened up a bit about himself.

'You know, there was a number of years where I knew I was transgender but was afraid to do anything about it,' Bono told one of the contestants.

But once Bono, 45, did decide to transition, he shared his story by writing a book called Becoming Chaz and being the focus of a documentary of the same name.

Boone, whose father is anti-gay singer and actor Pat Boone, attended the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday with lesbian friends and talked about her journey to becoming a Christian who embraces the LGBT community.

Jennifer Lopez paid emotional tribute to her 'way cool' lesbian aunt as she accepted the Vanguard Award on Saturday at the star-studded GLAAD Media Awards in Beverly Hills.

'Her struggles were mostly kept to herself,' Lopez said of her late aunt. 'Tonight, I know she's proud of me and everybody here.'

The Vanguard Award is presented to a media professional, who - through their work - has made a significant difference in support of LGBT equality.

Pharrell Williams, the man behind the number one hit Happy, has declared his support for same-sex marriage.

On Thursday (10 April) Williams was a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he said he believed in equal rights for everyone.

To thundering applause, he said: ‘When I say equality, I mean equality for everybody,

‘Why are you telling people who they can and cannot marry? This is 2014,’

'There was Playgirl, but that was kinda boring' so Lauper sought out a copy of Blueboy which she thought was womens magazine

To mark the 30th anniversary of her classic 1984 album She's So Unusual, pop icon Cyndi Lauper is revealing the surprise inspiration behind her hit song She Bop.

As she prepared to write a song about masturbation, she went down to a newsstand to grab a racy magazine for inspiration.

'There was Playgirl, but that was kinda boring,' Lauper recalled. 'And there was, like, Blueboy, which at that time - in my ignorance - I thought it was a women's magazine. It was not.'

Danny Pintauro, who from 1984-92 co-starred on the tremendously popular ABC sitcom Who's the Boss,. became a married man on Thursday (3 April).

Now 38, Pintauro married boyfriend Wil Tabares in a ceremony held in the beach community of Dana Point about an hour south of Los Angeles.

'Everything went off without a hitch,' Pintauro tells Us Weekly. 'The wedding was terrific and everyone was so happy to be there. We had fun!'

Bradley Bredeweg, the co-creator of ABC Family’s The Fosters, surprised friend Stephanie Huntington as part of his speech.

‘There has been someone else with us on our journey together - her name is Britney Spears. In a way, she’s kind of been the soundtrack of our lives,’ Bredeweg said.

In the description on the video, it says the two of them have been secretly obsessed with Britney Spears their entire friendship, so of course Britney had to be a part of the ceremony.

Anderson Cooper gave a candid, wide-ranging interview to radio host Howard Stern this week during which the CNN anchor revealed more personal details about his life than ever before.

Cooper talked about his days as a child model - a profession he entered at the age of 10 because he was worried about an impending financial collapse.

Between the ages of 10 and 13, he modeled for such brands as Macy's and Calvin Klein.

But that early career ended abruptly when he got propositioned by a male photographer who offered him $2,500 for sex.

Actress and talk show host founded nonprofit arts education foundation Rosie's Theater Kids

Rosie O'Donnell has hosted several Tony Award telecasts but she has never received one of Broadway's biggest prizes.

That will change on 8 June.

The actress and talk show host has been selected as the recipient of a special Tony Award for her commitment to helping provide arts education to students in New York City public schools.

O'Donnell will be presented with the Isabelle Stevenson Award which each year goes to a theater community member for their humanitarian, social service or charitable contributions.

Talk show host Sara Gilbert and musician Linda Perry were married over the weekend in a sunset ceremony overlooking the ocean.

The couple, who became engaged last April, invited some of their famous friends to the wedding including Gilbert's co-hosts on the daytime's The Talk.

Oscar nominated actress Juliette Lewis was among those who tweeted about the wedding and called the brides 'one of my fave couples in the universe.'

Equality campaigners gather to support gay marriage as couple ties the knot 

One of the UK’s first gay couples got married at the stroke of midnight tonight ( 29 March), marking the historic date for LGBT couples to legally get married in England and Wales.

Supported by a crowd of well wishers and equality campaigners, Peter McGraith and David Cabreza said their vows at Islington Town Hall, London.

The couple, who have been together for 17 years, spoke about how they felt an hour before the wedding.

Franklin Graham: 'I believe in protecting children from exploitation - all exploitations'

The son of evangelist Billy Graham is questioning whether gay couples seeking to adopt children have more than pure parental intentions in mind.

'They can recruit,' Franklin Graham tells The Charlotte Observer.

'You can adopt a child into a marriage, but you can also recruit children into your cause,' he adds. 'I believe in protecting children from exploitation - all exploitations.'

UK Prime Minister David Cameron has congratulated newly married gay couples in England and Wales today (29 March).

The leader of the Conservative party took to his Twitter account to voice his support for those at the forefront of this historic occasion.

Four band members say they will always remember their gay singer and 'brother' who tragically and suddenly passed away in 2009

Irish boyband Boyzone have said they regret going on tour too soon after the death of their late bandmate Stephen Gately.

The gay singer passed away in 2009 from an undiagnosed heart condition at the age of just 33, and the band performed together two years later.

Speaking on This Morning yesterday (24 March), Mikey Graham said of their 2011 tour: ‘It was too early for us to go out. I don't think we were emotionally stable enough to go out on that tour.

The Human Rights Campaign gala in Los Angeles took place over the weekend just hours after hundreds of same-sex couples had gotten married in Michigan.

A federal judge had overturned the state's gay marriage ban on Friday (21 March) leading to an immediate rush of marriages.

Even though the marriages were halted mid-day by an appeals court, that did not dampen the enthusiasm of celebrities as they arrived at the gala and chatted with Gay Star News about the latest legal victory.

Singing and acting superstar Jennifer Lopez is to record a top gay honor from GLAAD.

The Vanguard award is presented to artists who, through their work, have increased the visibility and understanding of the LGBTI community.

Past recipients include Cher, Whoopi Goldberg, Liza Minnelli, Antonio Banderes and Drew Barrymore.

It is being awarded to Lopez as she is one of the executive producers of ABC Family’s The Fosters.
