Comedy legend was last above title in 1988's Big Business opposite Bette Midler  in 1988

The last time Lily Tomlin had a starring role in a film, the Berlin Wall was still standing, Ronald Reagan was president of the US and it still would be 16 more years before the launch of Facebook.

But the 75-year-old comedy legend is back above the title in the comedy Grandma which premiered this week at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.

In her first leading role since 1988's Big Business with Bette Midler, Tomlin plays a feminist poet who is breaking up with her far younger girlfriend and still dealing with the death of her longtime partner.

American Idol alum's third album will be called The Original High

It may be his birthday today but Adam Lambert was doing the giving today.

The singer took to Twitter to share a new photo of himself featuring an arm tattoo and also shared the title of his upcoming third album.

It will be called The Original High.

'Enjoy the photo by Freddy Main. (It's not the cover...but it's something new!),' he tweeted. 'The Original High is executive produced by Max Martin and Shellback with 1st single out in April.'

Olympic Gold Medalist and Kardashian stepdad widely expected to reveal he is transgender

Bruce Jenner, no stranger to reality television, is about to embark on a TV project far different from his years on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

A series documenting Jenner's 'journey' is in development at E! Entertainment, according to Variety.

Although the network or Jenner has not confirmed the theme, it is widely believed the show will follow the 1976 Olympic Gold Medalist transitioning from male to female.

Colin Farrell is mighty impressed by Ewan McGregor with whom he starred in the 2007 film Cassandra's Dream.

Farrell tells Nylon Guys that he is impressed not so much that McGregor is apparently so well-endowed, but by how modest he is about it.

'I don't think Ewan is as proud of his penis as most men who are as well hung would—or should—or could be,' Farrell says.

US radio host says he feels bad but at least he got some press

British crooner Sam Smith has taken to social media to respond to Howard Stern's comment that he was 'fat,' 'ugly' and 'effeminate.'

The US radio host Saturday (24 January) called the openly gay singer 'an ugly motherfucker.'

'He’s fat. And I love it. You know what, he looks gay to me. Not that anybody looks gay but he does seem effeminate,' he said.

Melissa Rivers has filed a lawsuit against the New York City endoscopy clinic where her mother, legendary comic Joan Rivers, stopped breathing during a routine medical procedure.

Rivers, 81, never regained consciousness and died last September 4. She had been in good health and performed a comedy show the night before she went in for the procedure.

The daughter made some scathing remarks about Yorkville Endoscopy in a statement about the lawsuit.

Rosie O’Donnell says her 60 pound weight loss since undergoing vertical gastric sleeve surgery in July 2013 has been a major psychological hurdle.

O'Donnell, 52, showed off her trimmer body earlier this month when she wore a dress for the first time on ABC's The View.

'It was very weird for me,' she told viewers last week. 'I still have trauma, remembering it.'

O'Donnell admitted that she sometimes feels 'vulnerable' about how she looks and that after she appeared in her dress, she 'had therapy and the whole two hours was about the dress.'

'What is important to teach people is you can't judge other people,' the singer told Good Morning America which accompanied her on the visit.

Center CEO Lorri L. Jean met with Cyrus and was impressed with the young star.

Amiable and approachable, this Louisiana-born comic and host has managed to change the world for the better. By remaining that fun aunt to the American and international public, she is a force for good when it comes to LGBTI rights.

When DeGeneres came out in 1997, her career could have very easily ended there. And it did, as for a short period of time, she became a national joke.

Michelle Visage has said the Celebrity Big Brother house is suffering from 'post-traumatic Perez Hilton disorder'.

But on Friday (16 January), the house heard the crowd shout 'Get Perez Out!'

The Gay Star Travel Expo returned to London's Heaven nightclub for the second time last Saturday – and the one-stop-travel-shop proved a huge success, with LGBTI travellers filling the venue throughout the day.

The event featured two packed afternoon debates, the first featuring political figures Lord Cashman, Baroness Barker and Crispin Blunt.

Celebrities and campaigners criticize the US magazine, which photoshopped Jenner to appear as a woman, as ‘shockingly insensitive’ 

For a magazine named InTouch, its latest cover seems extremely out of touch.

The current issue of US celebrity gossip magazine InTouch has a photoshopped version of Bruce Jenner on the cover.

Jenner, former gold Olympic medallist but best known as the stepfather of US socialite Kim Kardashian, appears on the cover with lipstick and in women’s clothing. The headline reads: ‘Bruce’s Story: My life as a woman.’

World leaders in LGBTI rights debated the biggest LGBTI issues at the Gay Star Travel Expo today (17 January).

Veteran human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell, Nigerian activist Bisi Alimi and Ugandan gay rights campaigner Edwin Sesange discussed the question: ‘Are we winning or losing the fight for LGBTI rights worldwide.

National Aids Trust CEO Deborah Gold chaired the debate.

Alimi began by questioning what ‘success’ is, saying 14% of young LGBTI people are homeless in the UK.

Says it is 'only fair to have the same rights as everybody else, then it’s a wonderful world'

Ellen DeGeneres was appearing before TV critics in Pasadena Friday when news broke that that US Supreme Court was taking on four gay marriage cases this term.

'It’s about time,' DeGeneres said from a stage in Pasadena where she was talking up the NBC sitcom One Big Happy during the TV Critics Association Winter Press Tour.

DeGeneres, who married actress Portia de Rossi in 2008 added: 'The thing that changed the civil rights movement was when white people got involved and started marching. We need everyone on our side.
