Remarks fan widespread Joe Simpson gay rumors

Nick Lachey, as famous for his marriage to Jessica Simpson as for being part of the band 98 Degrees, fanned the flames this week of widespread rumors that Simpson's father is gay.

Asked in the Bravo show Watch What Happens Live what he misses the least about being Joe Simpson's son-in-law Lachey said: 'I don’t have to play grab-ass under the table on Easter Sunday!'

The remark came during a segment called Plead the Fifth and host Andy Cohen was so taken aback by the response that he blushed.

Neil Patrick Harris and the Tony Awards have become such a winning combination that the multi-talented star has just been signed to host the show for the fourth time.

He said in a tongue in cheek statement: 'I’m very excited to be back hosting the Tony Awards at the legendary Radio City Music Hall. It’ll be more impressive than ever—if my math is correct, it will be 267 times bigger than last year. Oh, wait. No, that can’t… hold on… carry the one… I’m awful at math. But rest assured, the show will rock!'

British 80-year-old actor, who has starred in over a hundred films, is being given the Freedom to the City of London

British actor Sir Michael Caine says his father thought he was gay when he told him he wanted to become an actor.

Speaking to Esquire magazine, the 80-year-old actor said: ‘My dad was a Billingsgate fish market porter. When I told him that I was going to be an actor, he never said a word but I saw his face and thought, he thinks I’m gay.

‘The theater in those days was very gay. But I wasn’t.’

When he was young, he thought he was an ‘ugly bugger’ but others thought of him differently.

The Will & Grace alum will star in Sean Saves the World

Sean Hayes, an Emmy winning sensation on NBC's Will & Grace for eight years, is returning to the network in a new comedy series this fall, it was announced Thursday (9 May).

'We are thrilled and can't wait,' Hayes wrote on Twitter.

Sean Saves the World has Hayes playing the father of a 14-year-opd girl who moves in with her dad. His character is adjusting to that change as well as having a new boss at work who is quite temperamental.

Hayes came out publicly as a gay man in 2010. It's not yet known if his character on the sitcom will also be gay.

James Franco marries a man (and kisses him!) in this fun new video posted Wednesday (8 May).

It's silly fun as a band called The Lonely Island performs a spring anthem about marrying a man. Among those who are seen walking down the aisle with a man are Franco, Ed Norton and Andy Samberg.

Franco also shows himself to be an awfully good sport in the video as the guest on the fictional talk show Between Two Ferns hosted by Zach Galifianakis who is anything but a gracious host.

Cleric been told by the Vatican to leave the UK so as not to create further embarrassment for the Catholic Church

Friends of the disgraced Cardinal Keith O’Brien say he’s been ordered by the Vatican into exile and ditch his plans for retirement in Scotland.

The Herald commented that: ‘It is the clearest indication yet of the Vatican's unwillingness to let the matter drift’ of the Cardinal’s sexual assault on male priests when he run seminaries in the 1980s and during a drinks party in Rome.

'He's the sexiest [expletive] on the planet!'

Zac Efron's good looks are not lost on his Townies co-star Seth Rogen.

Rogen was asked about Efron recently at the second annual Hilarity For Charity House Party in Los Angeles and he didn't hold back.

'Zac Efron is incredibly handsome,' Rogen said. 'He's the sexiest [expletive] on the planet!'

At 31, Rogen is only six years older than Efron but that was of little help when it came to filming certain scenes of the comedy.

Openly gay star John Barrowman can think of worse things that having to act in scenes on The CW series Arrow with hunky leading man Stephen Amell.

'I’m required in my contract at some point, during the whole season, that Stephen be naked around me on camera,' Barrowman jokes to The Backlot.com.

On the show the Torchwood star plays Malcolm Merlyn , the nemesis of Oliver Queen (Amell).

Openly gay Dr. Jeffrey John could become the next Bishop of Durham, the third-most powerful position in the Anglican Church

An openly gay bishop could become the third-highest ranking cleric in the Church of England.

Dr. Jeffrey John, Dean of St. Albans, is being considered for the role of Bishop of Durham, a position previously held by the now-leader of the Anglican Church Archbishop of Canterbury Rev. Justin Welby.

According to British newspaper The Telegraph, the panel responsible for appointing the next Bishop of Durham was told on Friday (26 April) that the new appointee should be able to establish ‘positive relationships’ with gay Anglicans.

Pop singer Ricky Martin has celebrated the legalization of same-sex marriage in New Zealand and says it is now inevitable that Australia, where he is currently staying, will follow suit

Openly gay pop star Ricky Martin has taken to Twitter to celebrate the legalization of same-sex marriage in New Zealand and says that marriage equality in Australia is inevitable.

Martin is in Australia to star as one of the celebrity coaches on the Australian version of The Voice and used his Twitter account to post a YouTube video of the aftermath of the passing of New Zealand’s same-sex marriage bill in which MPs burst into applause and then rose to sing a traditional Maori love song.

When the BBC science fiction series Dr. Who was revived in 2005, John Barrowman began a recurring role as time traveler Captain Jack Harkness.

The 51st century character proved so popular that Barrowman was given his own spinoff series, Torchwood, which has run four seasons.

But Barrowman, currently co-starring of The CW series Arrow, will not be a part of an upcoming Dr. Who 50th anniversary television special.

It's a surprise to fans and to the actor himself.

Bronx-born singer turned actress explains personal reasons for producing show about ‘non-traditional family’

Jennifer Lopez has said her new show about lesbian moms is a homage to her late gay aunt.

In a tearful interview with Entertainment Tonight, she explored the personal reasons why she wanted to create the new ABC Family drama The Fosters.

Asked whether she thought the show would be controversial, Lopez said: ‘I think it might be. But I think that’s ok.

‘I had an aunt who was gay. I lived with her and I loved her. She just passed away from cancer.

Jennifer Lopez will appear on screen in new drama series The Fosters, for which she is also the producer.

The show will focus on the lives of a lesbian couple and their family.

Jake Austin, who plays the foster son of Lena and Stef Foster in the series, said Lopez intends to appear in a cameo role during an episode of the show.

Wallflower writer-director Stephen Chbosky told the star-studded crowd, which included Leonardo DiCaprio, Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Evans, that he wanted to make a movie that would make kids who felt different feel less alone.

Lead actresses Sherri Saum and Terri Polo can be seen locking lips in the exciting new teaser trailer.

The American television network ABC Family has released an exclusive new promo for its upcoming show  ‘The Fosters’.

The show, which is produced by singer Jennifer Lopez, will center around school vice principal Lena, her police officer partner Stef, and their children.

The Fosters will become one of the only primetime shows in America to feature a female gay couple raising children, following in the footsteps of pro-gay but male-oriented shows Modern Family, The New Normal and Will & Grace.

Veteran gay rights activist Tatchell meets head of the Anglican Church worldwide, Archbishop Justin Welby: No compromise but ‘constructive’

New Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby admits gay relationships have value but won’t shift on same-sex marriage, activist Peter Tatchell has said after meeting with him.

Tatchell urged Welby to reconsider gay marriage equality, apologize for past church persecution of LGBT people and engage with activists in Africa where parts of the Anglican church are leading a wave of homophobic hate.

But Tatchell emerged from meeting Archbishop Welby this afternoon (18 April) with an agreement to further dialogue as the biggest concession he could secure.

Former First Lady Nancy Reagan is 91 and not about to make any kind of public statement about marriage equality herself.

So her daughter, author Patti Davis, took it upon herself in an interview this week to say that her mother is in favor of gay marriage.

'She does,' Davis replied to Huffington Post's Michelangelo Signorile when asked if her mother favored gay marriage.

Debbie Reynolds has some juicy stories to tell in her new book Unsinkable: A Memoir about the so-called Golden Days of Hollywood when she was one of the biggest movie stars around.

The star of such films as The Unsinkable Molly Brown, Singin' In the Rain and How the West Was Won dishes that one of her leading men, Tab Hunter, had tried to put the moves on her when they were teenagers.

Stars do not hold back in gay love story about Liberace to air on HBO

In all of the publicity so far leading up to the May 26 premiere of Behind the Candelbra on HBO, straight stars Michael Douglas and Matt Damon have insisted they did not hold back in portraying gay couple Liberace and Scott Thorson.

A new trailer - the first full-length one released so far - was unveiled on Monday (8 April) and indicates that viewers will see the two actors in bed together in intimate scenes and also show Damon emerging slowly from a swimming pool in a speedo.
