Lance Bass came out publicly as a gay man back in 2006.

But some people just can't deal with it.

'Every day, I hear some idiot calling me fag or threatening to kill me, and that's what you have to live with when there's still such a negative look at the LGBT community,' Bass tells ABC News.

'It's just sad what people are brainwashed into thinking.'

The pitch is back

Prepare to be pitch-slapped as Pitch Perfect 2 has revealed its first trailer.

Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Elizabeth Banks are back to front the sequel to the smash hit that sent everyone horizonal running.

Taking place at an a capella summer camp, there looks to be more songs, more laughs, and more of Fat Amy.

Banks, who is starring in The Hunger Games : Mockingjay (Part 1), will be also stepping behind the camera, as Pitch Perfect 2 will be her first full length feature directorial debut.

There had been reports that Neil Patrick Harris was among the three finalists for People Magazine's 'Sexiest Man Alive' title.

But when the magazine hit the stands on Wednesday (19 November), it was Australian hunk Chris Hemsworth on the cover.

Harris made light of the speculation after Hemsworth was announced by tweeting: '...I was almost so sexy...'

The Tony winner and recently named Oscar host can be found on page 150 of the 170-page issue under the title of 'Sexiest Moments of the Year.'

O'Donnell was at the Worldwide Orphans gala in New York City on Tuesday (18 November) and found herself at a table with movie hunks Hugh Jackman and Andrew Garfield.

But it was another handsome man who caught her eye: Peter Hermann who was at the event with his actress-wife Mariska Hargitay.

Actress Amanda Bynes is caught on an audiotape rambling about killing her parents and making bigoted comments about a gay friend.

According to the Daily Mail, the tape was recorded by one of the actress' roommates as they drove around Los Angeles.

After making  threats against her family, Bynes attacks the sexuality of a friend.

Paley Center gala in LA also draws Norman Lear who said TV 'has brought us closer to true equality for all'

With her wife Ellen DeGeneres unable to attend, Portia de Rossi walked the red carpet of The Paley Center for Media 2014 Los Angeles Gala with her mother-in-law, Betty.

De Rossi and DeGeneres, married since 2008, were honorary co-chairs of the evening which celebrated television's impact on LGBT equality.

''It's kind of amazing and it means a lot to me to celebrate how far we've come,' De Rossi told a small group of reporters, including Gay Star News.

Singer drives talk show host's audience wild

Nick Jonas has got it and he's going to flaunt it.

The singer, doing a publicity blitz for his new self-titled album, appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week and pulled down his pants for her screaming audience.

DeGeneres set the mood when she began to show the audience photos of a shirtless Jonas from a shoot he did for Flaunt magazine.

When the talk show host remarked that Jonas had put on a lot of muscle weight for his role on the TV series Kingdom and that she wanted to ask him to take his shirt off, Jonas drew the line.

Takei says of Hunter: 'He was blond and gorgeous ... he was a dreamboat'

George Takei picked 1950s movie heartthrob Tab Hunter to present an award to him and his husband, Brad, over the weekend at the Los Angeles LGBT Center's 45th anniversary gala.

The reason?

'When I was a teenager, Tab Hunter was my heartthrob,' Takei told the audience as the couple accepted the International Vanguard Award.

'He was blond and gorgeous - he was a dreamboat.'

Hunter, 83, had earlier told Gay Star News that he was making his first-ever appearance at a major LGBTI event.

There was a time when Tab Hunter would not want to be seen at an event like the Los Angeles LGBT Center's 45th anniversary gala.

But there he was over the weekend, front and center, presenting an award to George Takei and enjoying a standing ovation from the audience.

The star of the classic movie musical Damn Yankees told Gay Star News he was attending his first high-profile LGBTI event even though he had come out publicly in his 2005 autobiography Tab Hunter Confidential: The Making of a Movie Star.

Nick Jonas on Tuesday (11 November) agreed to play a game of 'crotchball' on Ryan Seacrest's radio show.

The singer and actor, in the middle of a publicity blitz for his new album, agreed to wear a hoop attached to his waist just above his crotch and allow Seacrest to throw a ball threw the hoop.

If Seacrest missed, Jonas had to agree to do a dare.

'This is much tamer than the stuff I've seen you do on social media,' Seacrest told Jonas.

On the third ball, Seacrest missed - quite purposely.

American Idol alum had been followed for months by documentary crew

Clay Aiken had hoped his bid to represent his home state of North Carolina in the US House of Representatives would allow him to fully transition out of show business.

Instead, it has landed him back as the star of a reality series.

Aiken, 35, lost the election decisively to Republican incumbent Renee Ellmers this week. The openly-gay Democrat had faced an uphill battle from the start in the heavily-Republican 2nd District.

Viewers will get a close-up view of Aiken's journey from announcing his candidacy back in February to election day.

American Idol alum projected to lose in North Carolina to Republican incumbent Renee Ellmers

Clay Aiken has lost his bid for a North Carolina seat in the US House of Representatives.

A runner-up on both American Idol and Celebrity Apprentice, Aiken found himself finishing second once again - this time to Republican incumbent Renee Ellmers.

Ellmers was leading Aiken with more than 56 percent of the vote, according to the Associated Press.

David Burtka is getting ready to step out from behind the considerable shadow of husband Neil Patrick Harris.

Burtka, 39, has been tapped to star in the wedding-themed Broadway musical It Shoulda Been You which will open this spring.

The show will be directed by Tony winner David Hyde Pierce who is best known for his long run as Niles Crane on the sitcom Frasier.

Elle Fanning has been announced as the lead in drama Three Generations.

The Maleficent actress will take the role of Ray, a New York City teen transitioning from female to male. Naomi Watts will play her mother and Susan Sarandom is down to play her lesbian grandmother.

The indie film was written by Nikole Beckwith and will be directed by Gaby Dellal, and has a budget of US$5 million.
