In a statement, the former sitcom star and current talk show host joked: 'I am so excited to be hosting the Oscars for the second time. You know what they say – the third time’s the charm.'

The 2014 Academy Awards are more than 10 months away, but Neil Meron and Craig Zadan have already been hired to produce them.

The show benefits by airing Monday nights following ratings powerhouse The Voice but the network's early renewal is a strong vote of confidence in the show.
