A Methodist church court is prosecuting a pastor who officiated over his son’s same-sex marriage

In 2013, the reality that Reverend Frank Schaefer, pastor at Zion United Methodist Church (UMC) of Iona in Pennsylvania, will be forced to stand trial on 18 November for officiating his son’s 2007 same-sex nuptials is not only wrong-headed – it is also wrong-hearted.

‘I love him so much and didn't want to deny him that joy. I had to follow my heart,’ Schaefer told the New York Daily News.

A group of gay NYPD police officers have called for a Greenwich Village street to be renamed in honor of Chares Cochrane – the cop who came out publicly in 1981 to speak for LGBT rights and founded the Gay Officers Action League

If a group of openly gay police officers in the New York Police Department get their way, a street in Greenwich Village will be renamed Sgt. Charles H. Cochrane Way.

Charles Cochrane, who died of cancer in 2008, was a trail blazing NYPD officer who founded the city’s Gay Officer Action League (GOAL) gay and lesbian network and famously came out publicly as a gay man in 1981 to speak in support of a citywide gay rights bill.

Marc Moskowitz, 66 from Manhattan, claimed Bally Total Fitness gym on East 55th Street were aware gay ‘cruising and lewd behavior’ is ‘commonplace’.

Police have launched a hate crime investigation after six people attacked a gay couple in New York City

A 23-year-old gay man was attacked on a Manhattan subway, as a crowd of onlookers did nothing.

Urena Morel Frankelly and his boyfriend were on a train on 18 February, when a woman took a picture of them eating and her friend called them names.

After the victim asked them why the two was taken a picture, the suspect said ‘Feed your face, faggot,’ the New York Daily News reports.

As an argument erupted, the two women, who were joined by three others plus a man, attacked Frankelly, police said.

A 23-year-old man is being charged with robbing and killing his 53-year-old lover in a Queens motel

A man is being charged with strangling his gay lover in a New York City motel, police revealed today (14 February).

Lleuyel Garcia, 23, is alleged to have killed and robbed the victim Joseph Benzinger, 54, who was found with a shirt wrapped around his neck on Saturday night (9 February).

Cops believe Benzinger and Garcia had met earlier that day and had a sexual relationship, the New York Daily News reports.

Calvin Klein was 69 when he took up with male model Nick Gruber - more than 40 years his junior - a few years ago.

A gay couple has become the first to have a civil union on a US military base, an act unthinkable nine months ago.

Technical sergeant Erwynn Umali and civilian Will Behrens said their vows at the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst military chapel in New Jersey on 23 June.

The couple was watched by 150 friends and family, and their four children, two each from previous relationships with women, gave them away.
