Newly uncovered recordings from the presidency of Republican Richard Nixon have revealed he believed people were born gay and lesbian though he thought they could bring down civilizations if they were allowed to promote their ‘lifestyles’

White House audio recordings recently uncovered by writers at Vanity Fair magazine have revealed that US President Richard Nixon considered himself to be the most tolerant person towards gays and lesbians in his administration and that he thought gay people were born that way.

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has allowed out of state married gay couples to file joint tax returns and says he wants his state to end its ban on same-sex couples being able to marry

Missouri state Governor Jay Nixon has signed an executive order allowing same-sex couples who have married in other states to file joint tax returns despite his state’s ban on same-sex marriage.

The US Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) determined that same-sex couples who have married in a state where same-sex marriage is legal can file joint federal tax returns regardless of where they live following the US Supreme Court striking down part of the Federal Defense of Marriage Act.

CNN recently released a recording where former US President Richard Nixon rails against gay sexuality.

In the tape, Nixon complains about a TV show that followed a baseball game. The comedy, a sitcom called All in the Family, allegedly 'glorified homosexuality.'

At first he thought it was a movie, but after the mistake was cleared up the Republican repeated his charge.

Norodum Sihanouk the former king of Cambodia died aged 89 yesterday at a hospital in Beijing.

King Sihanouk lived through tremendous changes in his lifetime. He became king in 1941 because the French colonial rulers thought as an 18-year-old he would be easier to manipulate than his father. He helped bring about Cambodian independence without bloodshed in 1953.

The first she is actress Cynthia Nixon and the second she is her new wife, Christine Marinoni.

The longtime couple got married on Sunday (27 May) in New York City and have just released their first official wedding day photo taken on a rooftop.

No details of the ceremony have been made public other than a brief statement on Monday announcing that it had taken place.

Cynthia Nixon is a married woman.

The Sex and the City star and Christine Marinoni, her girlfriend since 2004, tied the knot on Sunday in New York. Few details about the nuptials have been revealed except that Nixon wore a custom dress by Carolina Herrera.

Nixon met Marinoni after she had ended a 15-year relationship with photographer Danny Mozes, the father of her two oldest children. Marinoni gave birth to a son in February 2011.

But out actress Cynthia Nixon, winner of the 2006 Tony for Rabbit Hole, is one of the favorites in the lead actress in a play category for her performance as a woman dying of cancer in Wit.

Martin, who earned a Drama Desk Award nomination for his performance as Che, last appeared on Broadway in 1996 in Les Miserables.
