Interview will follow OWN's airing of documentary on the first openly gay man to be drafted by an NFL team

Oprah Winfrey gets Michael Sam after all.

After the college football star was drafted by the St. Louis Rams, Winfrey's cable channel OWN had announced plans for a documentary series following the first season of the NFL's first openly gay player.

Nothing worked out as planned and that series has been instead made into a 90-minute film to be aired on Winfrey's OWN on 27 December.

The series was quickly scrapped after pushback from the league and the team who were already concerned about 'distractions' regarding Sam.

As a kid, Kressley swooned whenever the star of The Six Million Dollar Man, a series about an ex-astronaut with bionic implants.

'I remember being absolutely in love with Lee Majors when he was The Six Million Dollar Man,' Kressley tells Gay Star News. 'He was on the cover of Dynamite Magazine which I stole from my brother.

The rumors about Gayle King and Oprah Winfrey being more than best friends have persisted for years but both women have denied anything romantic between them.

Then King appeared to have said on Wednesday's (8 October) episode of CBS This Morning: 'I'm gay.'

But did she?

King was asked about it as she left the CBS studio in Manhattan where the show is taped.

'This is the thing: I didn't say that,' she tells TMZ.

Seven years after her fiery exit from The View, ABC officially confirmed today that Rosie O'Donnell is returning to the show - and the fireworks have already begun.

'ABC confirms Rosie O'Donnell returns as co-host of #TheView w/ moderator Whoopi Goldberg for Season 18,' the network tweeted without further comment.

O'Donnell also has not yet commented on the news but two of her former co-hosts, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Joy Behar are engaged in a war of words over her return.

Last weekend, Sam was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the final round of the draft. The decision to delay the series came after a meeting between the Rams and OWN.

Ellen DeGeneres knows all about those tabloid rumors that she and wife Portia de Rossi are breaking up.

Oscar host more popular than ever after more than 10 years in the air

Ellen DeGeneres finds herself more popular than ever 17 years after publicly coming out as a lesbian.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show, a syndicated daytime talk show the funny lady has hosted since 2003, was watched by more viewers last week than at any time in its history.

The show average nearly 4.6 million viewers for the week of 3 February - its highest number to date.

According to The Wrap, the ratings were up an impressive 6% from a week earlier.

Former co-host of The View will guest on show where she and Elisabeth Hasslebeck once bitterly squared off

Rosie O'Donnell is heading back to The View - for just one day.

The lesbian television personality and actress ended her stormy year as moderator on the ABC talk show in 2007 with a heated argument with her conservative co-host Elisabeth Hassleback.

The argument (see video below) was one thing, but the fact that producers chose to put the women on a split-screen during part of it so enraged O'Donnell that she left three weeks before the end of her contract.

O'Donnell will appear on the show on 7 February.

Famed Kenyan author Binyavanga Wainana has come out as gay to protest homophobia in Africa, publishing a missing chapter of his debut book One Day I Will Write About This Place in which he remembers telling his mother about his sexuality on her death bed.

Wainana shot to fame as an author internationally after the book was mentioned by Oprah Winfrey.

In the missing chapter, titled ‘I am a homosexual, mum,’ Wainana remembers sitting by his mother’s hospital bed as she was dying and he had still not told anyone about his sexual orientation.
