Former co-host Joy Behar defends O'Donnell against blistering attack by nemesis Elisabeth Hasselbeck

Seven years after her fiery exit from The View, ABC officially confirmed today that Rosie O'Donnell is returning to the show - and the fireworks have already begun.

'ABC confirms Rosie O'Donnell returns as co-host of #TheView w/ moderator Whoopi Goldberg for Season 18,' the network tweeted without further comment.

O'Donnell also has not yet commented on the news but two of her former co-hosts, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Joy Behar are engaged in a war of words over her return.

DeGeneres climbed up five spaces from last year to reach fifth place on Forbes Magazine's 15th Annual Celebrity 100 list.

Beyonce tops the list for the first time with last year's leader, Oprah Winfrey, dropping to fourth. In second-place is LeBron James and number three is Dr. Dre.

OWN says it wants to give the NFL's first gay player 'the best opportunity to achieve his dream of making the team'

Saying it does not want to be a distraction, the Oprah Winfrey Network announced Friday (16 May) that it is postponing its plans to make a documentary series on Michael Sam becoming the first openly gay player in NFL history.

Last weekend, Sam was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the final round of the draft. The decision to delay the series came after a meeting between the Rams and OWN.

Ellen DeGeneres knows all about those tabloid rumors that she and wife Portia de Rossi are breaking up.

Even fellow celebrities are wondering.

Gayle King ran into a friend of the couple at an Oprah Winfrey party and said she heard break-up rumors while Nigel Lythgoe went so far as to text DeGeneres and say: 'I hope the rumors aren't true.'

Oscar host more popular than ever after more than 10 years in the air

Ellen DeGeneres finds herself more popular than ever 17 years after publicly coming out as a lesbian.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show, a syndicated daytime talk show the funny lady has hosted since 2003, was watched by more viewers last week than at any time in its history.

The show average nearly 4.6 million viewers for the week of 3 February - its highest number to date.

According to The Wrap, the ratings were up an impressive 6% from a week earlier.

Former co-host of The View will guest on show where she and Elisabeth Hasslebeck once bitterly squared off

Rosie O'Donnell is heading back to The View - for just one day.

The lesbian television personality and actress ended her stormy year as moderator on the ABC talk show in 2007 with a heated argument with her conservative co-host Elisabeth Hassleback.

The argument (see video below) was one thing, but the fact that producers chose to put the women on a split-screen during part of it so enraged O'Donnell that she left three weeks before the end of her contract.

O'Donnell will appear on the show on 7 February.

Famed Kenyan author Binyavanga Wainana has come out as gay to protest homophobia in Africa, publishing a missing chapter of his debut book One Day I Will Write About This Place in which he remembers telling his mother about his sexuality on her death bed.

Wainana shot to fame as an author internationally after the book was mentioned by Oprah Winfrey.

In the missing chapter, titled ‘I am a homosexual, mum,’ Wainana remembers sitting by his mother’s hospital bed as she was dying and he had still not told anyone about his sexual orientation.

Redbox DVD rental kiosks recently stopped renting out documentaries due to space limitations.

But the company is making an exception to its own rule for the gay-themed documentary Bridegroom which screened on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network last month and was introduced by Bill Clinton at the Tribeca Film Festival last June.

Though they had been together for six years, owned a home together and ran a business together, Crone was kept away from his funeral by Bridegroom's homophobic family.

But there was a time when his father refused to believe his son was anything but straight.
