Riverdale teen Kevin Keller will lock lips with boyfriend in Pop Tate’s diner

Archie Comics’ openly gay character Kevin Keller will give his boyfriend, Devon, a kiss in an upcoming issue - a kiss witnessed by a Riverdale mom who has all kinds of problems with it.

In the issue, which comes out on 7 August, the kiss at Tate's Diner results in an incident when the mom 'gets very offended and kind of pitches a bit of a fit,' Dan Parent, who writes and draws the issue, tells the Associated Press.

Twin boys arrive early but are healthy and thriving

Country music singer Chely Wright and her wife, Lauren Blitzer-Wright, are the parents of identical twin boys born over the weekend.

The singer, whose hits include Single White Female and Shut Up and Drive, gave birth to the children on Saturday (18 May) in New York City.

The babies are named George Samuel and Everett Joseph after their great-grandfathers.

In announcing her pregnancy in March, Wright had said the babies were technically due in July but since they were identical twins, she had expected to deliver at least a month early.

US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas called to remember history of anti-interracial marriage laws at the GLAAD Media Awards ceremony

US Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia were requested do the right thing by LGBT families at last night's (11 May) GLAAD Media Awards, held in San Francisco.

Steve Warren, member of GLAAD's board of directors, made a special appeal to the well known conservative judges. In his speech, he noted that Justice Thomas' marriage, before 1967, was illegal in a number of states.

Eritrea has labeled professor Paolo Mannina ‘a dangerous individual who is potentially destabilizing to the moral order and public of the country’

An Italian teacher working in the North African country of Eritrea has been deported for his sexuality.

The International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA) reported that Paolo Mannina was working as a literature professor in an Italian school located in the capital city of Asmara.

Authorities reportedly forced the professor from his job and made him leave the country without offering an official explanation.

Husband of Democratic Congressman Mark Pocan, Philip Frank, has become the first ever same-sex spouse to receive a spousal ID for the US House of Representatives

The US House of Representatives has issued its first ever spousal ID to the same-sex partner of a member of Congress.

Democratic Representative Mark Pocan’s husband Philip Frank received the ID on April 26 after the House of Representatives Sergeant At Arms informed Pocan that his husband was now eligible to receive a spousal ID.

Previously Philip Frank had had to use a ‘designee’ ID which merely recognized him as a guest of Pocan’s in the House of Representatives.

Remarks fan widespread Joe Simpson gay rumors

Nick Lachey, as famous for his marriage to Jessica Simpson as for being part of the band 98 Degrees, fanned the flames this week of widespread rumors that Simpson's father is gay.

Asked in the Bravo show Watch What Happens Live what he misses the least about being Joe Simpson's son-in-law Lachey said: 'I don’t have to play grab-ass under the table on Easter Sunday!'

The remark came during a segment called Plead the Fifth and host Andy Cohen was so taken aback by the response that he blushed.

Some lesbian women who have lived together for over ten years in some provinces in Cambodia could be the first legally recognized gay couples in Asia

A Cambodian LGBT rights activist said that some local authorities in the southeast Asian nation already recognize gay couples as married.

'Some local authorities give marriage certificates to lesbian couples,' said Srorn Srun facilitator for Rainbow Community Kampuchea (RoCK) in a interview with Gay Star News.

Cambodian law defines marriage as between a man and a woman only but in some provinces in the country local government officials have decided to recognize gay couples.

Noted author and Harvard University history professor Niall Ferguson offered an apology for his recent comments about economist John Maynard Keynes.

'My colleagues, students, and friends – straight and gay – have every right to be disappointed in me, as I am in myself,' Ferguson wrote today (4 April) on his website. 'To them, and to everyone who heard my remarks at the conference or has read them since, I deeply and unreservedly apologize.'

South African Christian school allegedly told a legally married lesbian couple their homosexuality was 'comprimising their values'

A South African lesbian couple is being told to break up or their son will be expelled from school.

Samantha and Kally Mabe, a legally married couple, have claimed they were called to a meeting at their five-year-old son’s school and were told their homosexuality was ‘problematic’.

Secunda Highveld Christian School in Mpumalanga allegedly accused the Mabes of lying about their relationship in the school’s application letter.

Brazilian Father Roberto Francisco Daniel was excommunicated from the Catholic Church who accused him of sin and hersey after he posted a pro-gay YouTube message

A Catholic priest in São Paulo state, Brazil was excommunicated after resigning from his duties to protest against the church's anti-gay stance.

‘Father Roberto Francisco Daniel can no longer celebrate the divine rite because he has been excommunicated,’ read a statement from the Bauru diocese in Sao Paulo state.

The Federal Election Commission ruled that gay couples can’t make a single political donation under both spouse's names

Gay couples are not allowed to make joint political donations like straight couples, said the Federal Election Commission (FEC) this week.

The agency that regulates campaign finance legislation in the US said unanimously this week that their ‘hands were tied’ because of the Defence of Marriage Act (DOMA), which prevents the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriages.

First country in the Asia-Pacific passes marriage equality law by 77 votes to 44.

New Zealand has become the first country in the Asia-Pacific region, and the 13th country in the world, to legalize gay marriage.

The third reading of a marriage equality bill was held in the New Zealand parliament today (Wednesday 17 April) and was passed by 77 MPs' votes to 44.

'Excluding one group from marriage is oppressive and unacceptable,' said the Bill's sponsor Labour MP Louisa Wall, who was wearing a rainbow top for the occasion, when introducing the Bill.

'Nothing could make me more proud to be a New Zealander than passing this bill.'

Former First Lady Nancy Reagan is 91 and not about to make any kind of public statement about marriage equality herself.

So her daughter, author Patti Davis, took it upon herself in an interview this week to say that her mother is in favor of gay marriage.

'She does,' Davis replied to Huffington Post's Michelangelo Signorile when asked if her mother favored gay marriage.

Chinese state media has not mentioned the wife of Iceland's prime minister Johanna Sigurdardottir during her official state visit.

Sigurdardottir is in Beijing for talks on a trade agreement between the most populous country in the world and the tiny island nation of 320,000 people. She is accompanied by her wife of 13 years Jonina Leosdottir, but China's media has not mentioned her by name or published photographs of her.

I'd only been to Portugal once before, and that was an Easter weekend in Lisbon a couple of years ago. On that trip I was traveling with my ex-boyfriend, another of his ex-boyfriends, and his new boyfriend at the time – a strange combination but it worked surprisingly well.

Gavin Gosnell found guilty of murdering 15-year-old Hayden Miles and cutting his body into twelve pieces

A jury in Christchurch, New Zealand has found 28-year-old Gavin Gosnell guilty of murdering gay teenager Hayden Miles.

There were cheers in the High Court and Miles' mother burst into tears when the verdict was read out, TVNZ reports.

'We want to remember Hayden for who he was, not what happened to him on that horrific night,' said Jacqui Miles outside the court.

Four anti-gay Republican politicians form a delegation that will attend Lady Thatcher’s funeral on Wednesday (17 April).

The delegation is lead by two anti-gay Republican members of the US Congress.

John Boehner, the speaker of the House of Representatives, who is a staunch opponent of gay marriage.

As well as Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn, who spearheaded an attempt to overturn marriage equality in Washington, D.C. and co-chaired the committee that drafted the 2012 national Republican platform, considered the most antigay in history.

Mr Gay Namibia, Ricardo Raymond Amunjera and his partner Marc Omphemetse Themba and have tied the knot in Johannesburg.

The official wedding reception ceremony will take place at Namibia`s Hilton Hotel, this Saturday (20 April), where the gay couple will also celebrate Amujera`s 30th birthday.

Gay marriage is illegal in Namibia and in Botswana, Themba’s home, forcing the couple to travel to South Africa’s Johannesburg where they had a civil ceremony.

Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos allegedly forced military chiefs to perform a show in women's clothes for his birthday

A former Philippines dictator forced his generals to perform a drag queen show during a birthday party, according to Wikileaks.

Ferdinand Marcos, who was in office from 1965 to 1986 and died in 1989, allegedly had a ‘two-day blast’ party in the early 70s.

US ambassador William Sullivan wrote a series of criticisms of the dictator and his wife Imelda Marcos in secret cables that have since been declassified, Agence France Presse reports.

A 25-year-old Scottish man has escaped jail after the sentencing judge recognized he was transgender

A man was sentenced to three years probation and 240 hours community service for not telling his girlfriend he was transgender before sex.

Chris Wilson, 25, was sentenced after pleading guilty to two counts of ‘obtaining sexual intimacy by fraud’.

Instead of facing jail and being on the sex offender’s register for life, Wilson will be on it for three years.
