Some of the biggest stars in America's WWE wresting league have posed for the NOH8 campaign in a sign of growing acceptance of LGBTI people in the combat sports arena

Openly gay WWE wresting superstar Darren Young has joined with a host of wresting stars from his league to pose for the NOH8 campaign aimed at wiping out homophobia.

Young, who’s real name is Fred Rosser, was joined by WWE world heavyweight champion Daniel Bryan and the cast of E!’s Total Divas among others including Titus O’Neil, Tyson Kidd, Jack Swagger and Xavier Woods

‘I am so honored to be a part of the WWE NOH8 campaign, Young said in a statement about his participation in the campaign.

90’s World Wrestling Federation pro-star ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin has backed efforts to legalize same-sex marriage in the United States, questioning who gave churches the right to decide who is allowed to marry or not.

‘There has been a lot of f***ing stuff in the news lately about same-sex marriage - everybody’s going crazy about this and some of the churches say “oh no can do, you can’t do that,”’ the man nicknamed the Texas Rattlesnake said in a recent profanity-laden podcast.

Newark New Jersey mayor will have to run again next year to retain his seat

Staunch LGBT ally Cory Booker has become the first African-American elected to the US Senate since Barack Obama in 2004.

The mayor of Newark, New Jersey, is a rising political star in the Democratic party who won a special election against Republican candidate Steve Lonegan. They were running to fill what remains of the term of the late Democrat Frank R. Lautenberg, who died in June.

Booker, 44, will be up for reelection again next year.

2K Sports has revealed that Darren Young will be a playable character in its upcoming WWE 2K14 video game while congratulating him for having the courage to come out

Openly gay WWE wrestler Darren Young will be a playable character in the upcoming WWE 2K14 video game - to be released 29 October this year.

His inclusion was officially announced on August 17 as one of the wrestlers to be included in the game’s 30 Year of WrestleMania mode – although the list was prematurely leaked on IGN.

Young will be a playable character in the game alongside WWE greats such as The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, King Kong Bundy and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

US sporting professional is believed to be the first in WWE wrestling to come out and continue competing professionally

WWE wrestling superstar Darren Young has come out as gay.

The 33-year-old revealed his sexuality to a TMZ photographer after he was asked if a gay wrestler could be successful.

Laughing, he said:  ‘Absolutely, absolutely! Look at me. I'm a WWE Superstar, and to be honest with you I'm gay. And I'm happy, very happy.’

Channing Tatum has said he would have gay sex with fellow Hollywood A-list star George Clooney.

The 32-year-old Magic Mike actor was asked who he thought the sexiest man alive was, The Sun newspaper reports.

He said: ‘Well I’ve spent time with George Clooney and he’s the most interesting man on the planet.

‘He can do it all. Yep, I guess what I’m saying is I’d have sex with him.’

Pro-wrestler Bully Ray has apologized for directing a tirade full of homophobic slurs at a fan in Chicago after a wrestling match on March 14

Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling star Bully Ray has apologized to a fan after directing a homophobic slur ridden tirade at a fan after winning a wrestling match in Chicago on March 14.

A video posted on YouTube shows the reigning TNA World Heavyweight Champion approaching a fan outside the ring and then verbally abusing him.

‘Sit down, faggot!,’ Ray tells the man. ‘You’re a punk and you got punked in your own frickin’ town.

‘You invented fags, you fag! … You frickin’ queer! You shave your frickin’ chest!’

A Russian coach says if they expel the sport from the 2020 Games, 'gays will soon run the whole world'

A Russian coach is blaming a ‘gay conspiracy’ on plans to cut wrestling from the Olympic program.

On Tuesday (12 February), the International Olympic Committee’s Executive Board voted to cut wrestling from the list of 25 confirmed sports for the 2020 Games.

It will now need to reapply as part of a group of eight sports, which includes karate and roller-skating.

Speaking to R-Sport, coach Vladimir Urimagov called the decision a ‘blow to masculine origins’.

North Carolina voters are at the polls today deciding the fate of Amendment One, legislation that will ban the state from recognizing civil unions, strip away domestic partner benefits and could eliminate legal protections for all unmarried couples.

Passions have been heated on both sides of the issue in recent days and led to a war of words on Twitter between pro wrestler CM Punk and a homophobic supporter of the measure.
