Majority Leader Harry Reid is confident the bill will pass with full support of Democrats and handful of Republicans

The US Senate is expected to begin debate on the long-languishing Employment Non-Discrimination Act on Monday (4 November) and Majority Leader Harry Reid is confident of passage.

The proposed legislation now has the support of every Democrat in the Senate with the last three holdouts coming around this week.

'This is fairness,' Reid tells MSNBC's Rachel Maddow. 'Why wouldn't we do this?'

Reid says it is not just Democrats who will support the bill.

'I think, without question, we're going to get at least five Republicans,' he said.

They tell GSN they want to have another wedding ceremony with families present

Jeff Zarrillo and Paul Katami may finally be married men, but they are still planning a wedding.

One of the two couples who were the lead plaintiffs in the lawsuit that brought down California's Proposition 8, the couple got married at Los Angeles City Hall on 28 June in the first hours that same-sex marriages became legal again in the state.

'We had to watch our wedding back on TiVo to really have it sink in because it all is very out body,' Katami said when the couple chatted with Gay Star News recently.

Greg Quinlan, an advocate in the ex-gay movement, doesn't know much, but he's certain of the following: President Barack Obama and US Supreme Court Justices Anthony Kennedy and Elana Kagan are under cover gay.

On 3 July, Quinlan was a guest on Sons of Liberty Radio. As reported by Right Wing Watch, the no longer gay claimed he worked for the Human Rights Campaign, a gay civil rights organization, in the 1990s.

Ceremony conducted by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa on his final day in office

Paul Katami and Jeff Zarrillo got married Friday evening at Los Angeles City Hall by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa on his final day in office.

The event was aired live on some Los Angeles television stations and nationally on Rachel Maddow's show on MSNBC.

'On behalf of the state of California, let me pronounce you married,' Villaraigosa said at the end of the ceremony.

The Burbank couple are one of two couples who were the plaintiffs in the case that successfully defeated Proposition 8 which was voided this week by the US Supreme Court.

Late night talk show host David Letterman let off some steam Wednesday night (3 April) directed at gay marriage opponents during a chat with guest Rachel Maddow.

Letterman described himself as 'just sick and tired' of the arguments against marriage equality and the characteristics of the debate itself.

'I think it has really crossed the line of being nonsense,' he said. 'This ongoing, politically nuanced, religiously nuanced discussion of gay marriage, gay rights. It is absolute stupidity.'

US veteran Dan Choi fined $100 for peaceful 2010 White House protest against 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'

Dan Choi, who led the movement to end the US’s army ban on out gay soldiers, called, Don’t Ask Don’t Tell (DADT), has been fined $100 for chaining himself to the White House in 2010.

Choi, who stood on trial yesterday (28 March) was a lieutenant that was fired from the US Army after coming out on the Rachel Maddow Show.

He was then billed by the US Defense Department for $2,500 for failing to fulfill his military contract, which he is refusing to pay.

The most unlikely political superstar to emerge from this month's US presidential election is Nate Silver who predicted, with uncanny accuracy, how Barack Obama would defeat Mitt Romney.

He made his prediction - 90.9 percent certainty of an Obama win - months before an election that most experts were saying was too close to call even on the morning of the vote.

Silver, who is openly gay, also correctly predicted the electoral college results in 50 out of 50 states.
