Conservative MP Nigel Evans has released a statement regarding his arrest yesterday over male rape and assault charges.

In a live broadcast on SKY News this morning, Evans said: 'Yesterday I was interviewed by police concerning two complaints, one of which dates back four years, made by two people who are well-known to each other and who, until yesterday, I regarded as friends.

'The complaints are completely false and I cannot understand why they have been made, especially as I have continued to socialize with one, as recently as last week.

Nigel Evans, one of Britain’s best-known gay Members of Parliament and a Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, has been arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual assault of two men.

Sky News broke the story with their crime correspondent Martin Brunt saying: ‘He is being questioned over two allegations, one of rape and another of sexual assault against two men, two men who I understand are in their late 20s.’

A 41-year-old and 55-year-old man was found guilty of raping a 14-year-old in a Debenhams

Two men have been found guilty of sexual assault and rape of a 14-year-old boy in a Manchester toilet.

Alex Wilson-Fletcher, 41, and Abdelkader El-Janabi, 55, attacked the boy in a British department store in June last year.

The teen had told police he was marched by two men into a Debenhams where he was assaulted in the bathroom.

In court, the boy said the pair had approached in the Arndale Centre when El-Janabi grabbed his arm and told him to follow him, the BBC reports.

Gay rape joke goes viral in India, but Facebook says it does not violate the Community Standard on hate speech

Indian cult T-shirt brand Bewakoof has apologized for a joke about gay rape on their Facebook page.

After cricketer Chris Gayle set a world record in an Indian Premier League match in Pune earlier this week. Bewakoof posted a joke that said 'If a man rapes another man, he is called GAY. If a man rapes 11 other men he is called GAYLE.'

The joke got more than 15,000 shares and 18,000 likes before it was taken down.

The 17-year-old, who allegedly said he 'had to be with a boy', has been cleared of accusations of sexual assault in 2010

A British television actor was cleared of raping a 14-year-old boy, a court heard today (26 March).

Blackfriars Crown Court heard claims the 17-year-old star had allegedly sexually assaulted the boy in front of his girlfriend ‘to prove he was bisexual’ in 2010.

Both boys cannot be named at this time due to legal reasons.

The jury cleared him of the charges he faced after almost five hours of deliberation, which were three counts of sexual assault and one of oral rape, the BBC reports.

A British teenage television actor accused of raping a 14-year-old boy to prove to his girlfriend he was bisexual has said the sex was consensual.

The actor, then 15, denied he forced a fellow stage school pupil to perform oral sex on him at a London theater, Blackfriars Crown Court heard.

He also dismissed allegations that on the following day, he dragged the 14-year-old into a stairwell and raped him in front of his girlfriend.

The defendant, now 17, and the alleged victim, now 16, cannot be named due to legal reasons at this time.

The actor, then 15, insisted he had to ‘be with a boy’ as he allegedly forced a fellow stage school pupil to perform oral sex on him at a London theater in 2010.

During the second day of the trial at Blackfriars Crown Court, the jury heard the defendant had forced the 14-year-old into a stairwell and raped him in front of his girlfriend.

Both the accused actor and alleged victim cannot be identified for legal reasons at this time.

A 21-year-old man was left 'devastated' after being attacked by a man in the northern English city's center

A young man was robbed and raped in Manchester city center on 16 March.

The 21-year-old victim was walking home at around 3am when a man threatened him with a bottle, demanding his mobile phone and cash. 

After giving away his valuables, in the busy area near London Road, Piccadilly, the man was then raped.

Manchester Police Detective Inspector Damian Simpson said the 21-year-old was left ‘devastated’ by this attack.

A 19 year-old lesbian soccer player was brutally murdered by gangsters, becoming the latest victim of anti-gay violence sweeping South African 

According to Ndumie Funda, director of Luleki Sizwe, an organization that assists young lesbian victims of so called ‘corrective rape’ a young South African lesbian was murdered by a group of gangsters.

Sihle Skotshi, was a soccer player who was only 19 years-old when she was murdered.

Skotshi was one of the girls in the group assited by the Luleki Sizwe organization.

The attack occurred on the 9 November at Cosovo an informal settlement in Phillipi, a township of Cape Town.

Rapist of trans woman convicted in appeals court

A 61-year-old man who was acquitted of a violent rape in Sweden because the victim is a transgender woman has been convicted at appeal.

The Göta Court of Appeal convicted the man of attempted rape and sentenced him to 15 months in prison and ordered him to pay 40,000 kronor ($6,000, €4,630) compensation.

‘This ruling shows that you can be convicted for attempted rape regardless of the gender identity of the victim,’ prosecutor Eva Grandestedt told Sveriges Television, The Local reports.

Two Iranian men arrested over rape and assault of 22-year-old in Danish capital

A 22-year-old gay man was raped after cruising in a park in Copenhagen, Denmark, yesterday morning (2 August).

The victim said he had flirted with one of the two alleged offenders and had agreed to have sex with him in the H C Ørstedsparken park before the assault. The site is well known as a popular cruising ground for gay men in the Danish capital.

However, the men became violent and tried to strangle the victim, ripping off his pants and raping him, Homotropolis reports.

Swedish court clears man of attempting to rape trans woman over victim's genitalia

A man accused of attempting to rape a woman has been cleared by a court in Sweden because the victim was transgender.

Örebro district court heard how the 61-year-old defendant followed the trans woman, who was dressed in traditionally female clothes, and brutally attacked her outside her ex-boyfriend’s house.

After forcing her to the ground he attempted to rape her, tearing off the victim's pants and grabbing at her crotch

However, judge Dan Sjöstedt ruled that the attempted rape charge was ‘invalid’ because the accused was transgender.

A young man known by the initials CH M was hanged publicly in Marwdasht, Fars Province, Iran, for allegedly engaging in 'sodomy' with another man.

Speaking with the Iranian Fars News Agency, Gholamhossein Chamansara, the Attorney General of Marwdasht, reported that the death penalty was given to the man - whose exact age is not known - due to his 'despicable act' that contradicted Sharia Muslim laws.
