Miami ceremony to be performed by MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts

Sam Champion, weather anchor of ABC's Good Morning America, officially married Rubem Robierb in New York City last Friday (21 December) but that was only the first step in the wedding march for the couple.

They have headed down to Miami, Florida, where they will have a New Year's Eve ceremony with a more festive, party atmosphere.

Miami is Robierb's hometown and it was at a New Year's Eve party that the couple first met.

The ceremony will be conducted by MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts, a fellow newlywed.

Tells Gay Star News: ‘I’m all grown up now’

Danny Roberts has not been in the spotlight much since he was featured as part of the New Orleans cast on MTV's The Real World in 2000.

But he's never been forgotten.

In his 2008 interview with Out magazine, Neil Patrick Harris said Roberts was a role model for him at that time because 'before him I'd never seen anyone wear [homosexuality] so comfortably.'

California Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom performs ceremony in NYC

The setting was the rooftop of Manhattan's Gansevoort Hotel on Park Ave. as MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts married his longtime partner, Patrick Abner, in New York City over the weekend.

The couple exchanged their vows in a ceremony Saturday (29 September) performed by Gavin Newsom, the Lieutenant Governor of California and former San Francisco mayor who in 2004 authorized same-sex marriages in that city which were later annulled.

'The BEST night ever with Patrick Abner,' Roberts tweeted after the ceremony. 'Thanks to the most amazing friends and family.'

'You hear all those horrible stories about high-profile people who had been living these closeted lives. There's no excuse for it anymore'

Wearing a tight-fitting Buzz Lightyear costume on a Los Angeles movie set, Ian Roberts is a long ways away from his days as a professional rugby player in Australia.

He calmly does take after take of a scene taking place at a Halloween party for the romantic comedy Saltwater where, ironically, it is his love interest (played by the film's writer, Ronnie Kerr) who is dressed as a rugby player.
