23-year-old Zach Phelps-Roper, a grandson of Westboro Baptist Church founder Fred Phelps, has left the church and has spoken about how kind gay people have been to him since leaving

Zach Phelps-Roper has spoken about his decision to break away from the Westboro Baptist Church and reconnect with other family members excommunicated from the notorious anti-gay church.

23-year-old Zach moved out of the family compound on 20 February, with the help of cousins who had already left the church.

He is the fourth of his ten siblings to leave the church, now lead by his mother Shirley Phelps-Roper - the daughter of church founder Fred Phelps

Jennifer Neuman-Roper won court order to marry longtime partner

One of the plaintiffs in a New Mexico gay marriage case being considered by the state's Supreme Court has died.

Jennifer Neuman-Roper was suffering from an aggressive form of brain cancer and able to get a court's permission to marry her longtime partner in August.

The 44 year old and wife Angelique Neuman-Roper were married in the hospital the very day a judge ordered Santa Fe County clerk to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Two women have apologized for the pain they have caused while they were part of the 'God Hates Fags' church

Two key members of the anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church have left the fold and apologized for their past.

Megan Phelps-Roper and her sister Grace, the daughters of lead group figure Shirley Phelps, have left the church known for their ‘God Hates Fags’ signs and the picketing of soldiers’ funerals.

The two sisters pioneered social media in the ‘God Hates Fags’ group, with Phelps-Roper posting parody videos of Lady Gaga’s music videos.

A gay man who went missing on Saturday night has been found dead in the basement of his home in Randwick, south-eastern Sydney.

Ben Roper, a Virgin flight attendant, was found after an 'extensive search' police said. They said the death is being treated as non-suspicious.

Hacking group takes over Westboro Baptist Church spokesperson’s twitter account and leak church members info following their plans to picket victims’ funerals

The Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) blamed marriage equality in Connecticut for the tragic shooting spree in Newtown that took 26 lives.

The Church announced that it will picket the funerals of the children with banners saying ‘God Hate Fags’ and other anti-gay hate messages.

Shirley Phelps-Roper, spokesperson of WBC and daughter of its leader, Fred Phelps, tweeted, ‘Westboro will picket Sandy Hook Elementary School to sing praise to God for the glory of his work in executing his judgment’.
