When Rosie O'Donnell was in the seventh grade, an English teacher demanded to know why she hadn't done her homework.

This led to a classmate passed a note around which said 'Mr. Kaplan doesn't know that Roseanne's mother died and now she's sad.'

When she saw the note, she started to cry and ran out of the classroom and into the woods. There she stayed until they found her late in the night.

She did not return to school for a month.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show will look to continue its dominance in the category of outstanding talk show/entertainment, an award the show has already won an astounding eight times.

DeGeneres is nominated as executive producer of the show but not as outstanding talk show host after taking herself out of the running in that category several years ago after six wins in seven years.

Despite urging by her co-hosts, she didn't want to discuss leaving The View on Monday's show

Viewers who had learned over the weekend that Rosie 'Donnell was leaving The View were surprised when she did not discuss her departure on Monday's show.

She said in a YouTube video posted after the show that she doesn't plan to discuss it on Tuesday either and that her final day as full-time co-host will be on Thursday.

She recently wore a dress on The View and says 'I still have trauma, remembering it'

Rosie O’Donnell says her 60 pound weight loss since undergoing vertical gastric sleeve surgery in July 2013 has been a major psychological hurdle.

O'Donnell, 52, showed off her trimmer body earlier this month when she wore a dress for the first time on ABC's The View.

'It was very weird for me,' she told viewers last week. 'I still have trauma, remembering it.'

O'Donnell admitted that she sometimes feels 'vulnerable' about how she looks and that after she appeared in her dress, she 'had therapy and the whole two hours was about the dress.'
