Terry Sweeney was on show in mid-1980s - was target of terrible AIDS joke by a visiting Chevy Chase

Terry Sweeney was nowhere to be seen during NBC's recent Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary special.

He wasn't the only one of the former Not Ready for Prime Time Players to not be featured but he was the only one who is an openly gay male.

Sirius XM Radio talk show host Frank DeCaro was among those outraged by what he considered a slight.

'Leaving Terry Sweeney -- the only openly gay male cast member in the forty-year history of Saturday Night Live -- out of the anniversary special doesn't sit well with me,' DeCaro wrote in a Facebook post.

Don't you want to be Santa Claus in this photo?

Have to hand it to actors James Franco and Seth Rogen. They never tire of hyping their lovers and/or real close friends routine. And showing some skin.

Franco was the guest on last night's (6 December) comedy show Saturday Night Live. His opening monologue focused on the problems Sony faces with the company's information being hacked and shared.

Don't worry, this has nothing to do with Too Many Cooks

When Modern Family first started to become popular, it was a guarantee that more and more comedies would start to embrace the LGBTI community.

Hunger Games star Woody Harrelson decided to parody the onslaught of gay-friendly sitcoms when he appeared on Saturday Night Live at the weekend.

When he wasn't singing to Taylor Swift alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, he was part of the very funny take on the show.

Former SNL star says Rudd tastes like chicken while Franco tastes like cinnamon

For a straight guy, Bill Hader sure has made out with a lot of men.

For his latest role as a troubled gay man in the film The Skeleton Twins, Hader locked lips with Modern Family star Ty Burrell who plays an old flame he reconnects with.

Viewers won't see their makeout session though since it did not make the final cut of the film which stars Kristen Wiig as Hader's brother.

Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg, Fred Armisen, Bill Hader plus Paul Rudd and Maya Rudolph all pucker up

More than a week has passed since a kiss between the NFL's Michael Sam and his boyfriend aired live on ESPN and sent some homophobes into a tailspin.

NBC's Saturday Night Live spoofed the hypocrisy of the outrage over the weekend by bringing back together one of its most popular sketches in recent years: the over-affectionate Vogelcheck family.

This is the last family you would expect to take issue with anyone kissing anyone - any place, any time.

But they do.

'There weren't a lot of other reasons to be there'

Openly gay CNN anchor Anderson Cooper paid a visit to Seth Meyers' new NBC late night talk show on Monday and shared with viewers why he once thought the host was gay.

It seems Cooper, a well-known gym rat, once saw the former Saturday Night Live writer and news anchor at a gym in Manhattan and jumped to conclusions.

'It was pretty much the gayest gym on the planet,' Cooper said, 'And I assumed you were gay, ’cause… there weren’t a lot of other reasons to be there.'

Seth Rogan, Sarah Silverman, Andy Samberg and others poke fun at actor

The honoree just laughed and laughed Sunday night as a series of comics and fellow actors took the stage during Comedy Central's Roast of James Franco and made jokes that he is gay.

'Who is the real James Franco?' wondered his Pineapple Express co-star Seth Rogen. 'Is he an artist? Is he an actor? Is he a scholar? He's tough to pin down; although I've heard many guys have been able to do it.'

Rogen added: 'Every man wants to be him and he wants to be in every man.'

Presenters apologize to nurses, not to gay men, for stereotyped and offensive portrayal in 'homosexual nurse' skit

Saturday Night Live (SNL) Korea has apologized for a skit in which a male nurse makes effeminate movements while a patient groans in agony, and then asks for the (male) patient's phone number.

But the TV show didn't apologize for the stereotyped and offensive portrayal of gay men, but to nurses for any 'hurt' that could have been caused by the skit.

In the segment, shown on Saturday 18 May, Hong Seok-cheon, South Korea's most famous gay man, played the nurse.

'Marriage is meant for people who wear different kinds of swimsuits'

Tina Fey dusted off her uncanny and wildly popular impersonation of Sarah Palin during a recent television appearance and, as Palin, took on the issue of gay marriage.

'Well, the bible says it's gross,' she told host James Lipton on an episode of Inside the Actors Studio.

'I don't judge it,' she added. 'A lot of the amazing, wonderful people I met at the audience at Dancing With the Stars seemed to go that way.'

Golden Globes speech comedy gold for lesbian cast member

She's already nailed an impersonation of Ellen DeGeneres so Saturday Night Live cast member Kate McKinnon tackled another famous lesbian during the show's most recent episode: Jodie Foster.

McKinnon, who is lesbian herself, mimed comedy gold out of Foster's Golden Globe Awards speech where she first came out as 'single' then kind of came out publicly in a roundabout way without ever saying the words 'lesbian' or 'gay.'

'I am ga… ame for anything,' McKinnon teases in Foster fashion. 'I’m officially a Les… lie Nielsen fan.'

Made splash with impersonations of Ann Romney and Ellen DeGeneres

Kate McKinnon didn't waste any time making her mark as a new cast member on NBC's Saturday Night Live.

Her dead-on impersonations of Ann Romney and Ellen DeGeneres are among her standout characters and the buzz she has created has resulted in McKinnon landing at the top of Forbes Magazine's annual Hollywood list of 30 people under the age of 30.

Says Ellen: 'I’m going to invite her to LA because I want her to go to Thanksgiving for me'

New Saturday Night Live cast member Kate McKinnon is clearly a standout and is helping to fill the void left by Kristin Wiig who departed at the end of last season.

McKinnon, who is also a lesbian, nailed an impersonation of Ellen DeGeneres that is getting raves - including DeGeneres herself.

'She’s really funny,' DeGeneres told viewers on her daytime show as she showed clips of McKinnon as her.

'I’m going to invite her to LA because I want her to go to Thanksgiving for me,' she joked.

James Bond actor will host long-running US comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live

James Bond actor Daniel Craig is about to face his toughest challenge yet, guest-hosting long-running US comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live.

In a series of hilarious promos for this week’s episode, the ‘Skyfall’ star is seen getting intimate with cast member Taran Killam.

What Craig did not realize was that every host has to kiss the fifth newest member of the SNL cast, which happens to be Killam himself.

Sadly the sketch ends before we get to see it.

Kate McKinnon in the running to become a regular on NBC late night staple

With Kristin Wiig uncertain about whether she will be returning to Saturday Night Live next season, the show is finding some reinforcements including lesbian comedienne Kate McKinnon who makes her debut this week.

It's been more than 25 years since a lesbian has been cast on SNL. The late Danitra Vance was a regular during the 1985-86 season.
