Ex-Scissor Sisters showman says coming out at 15 'was something I probably shouldn't have done at that time'

Ex-Scissor Sisters singer Jake Shears says he probably shouldn't have come out when he was 15 as it 'made the rest of the year pretty miserable'.

Shears said in an an interview with rucomingout.com that he was bullied a lot at school after he came out and it went 'totally unchecked by teachers and other staff who watched it happen first hand'.

English man jailed for two and a half years for stabbing a man who taunted and physically attacked him

A gay hairdresser will be jailed for two and a half years for stabbing a man with scissors after he taunted him over his sexuality.

Lee Howett, 26, who lives in Essex, England, stabbed the man in the shoulder with his hairdressing scissors at Basildon train station.

The incident took place at around 11.15pm on 24 June, The Daily Mail reports.

Addressing the defendant, Judge David Owen Jones said: 'It may be and I accept it probably was the case that one of the young men made a homophobic comment towards you.

The Scissor Sisters will close their latest tour with a 'Kiki' wrap party at London's infamous East End night out ‘Sink The Pink’.

Frontman Jack Shears will be spinning the decks at Bethnal Green Working Men’s club on Saturday (3 November).

The Scissor Sisters hinted earlier this month that a career break was immanent. Ana Matronic told the audience at Camden’s Roundhouse: ‘This will be the last time we will play in London for quite some time.’
