The Anchorage Baptist Temple, located in the US Western state Alaska, has canceled its Boy Scouts sponsorship because the Boy Scouts of America now allow open gay members.

According to the church's chief pastor, Rev. Jerry Prevo, the decision took so long because there were hopes BSA would reconsider.

Protest planned in Ohio tonight in support of Jennifer Tyrrell

Jennifer Tyrrell found out last week that she would no longer be allowed to serve as a den mother for her son's Cup Scout troop in Bridgeport, Ohio.

It's not because she's not a good mom or a good den leader. It's because she is a lesbian.

Tonight (17 April), a peaceful protest by parents and scouts from the troop will be held outside of the local Boy Scouts of America. Tyrrell has served as a den leader for nearly a year.
