Japan meets France and Britain at Sushi des Artistes

A Japanese restaurant in London with French styling and décor, British retro pop on the piano and – most importantly – heavenly food

We love anything quirky, cool or ‘quality’ – so we couldn’t resist telling you about our ever-so-slightly camp new discovery, Sushi des Artistes.

At first glance, this London restaurant is a miss-match; French styling, Japanese food, retro pop played live by a pianist. But the combination turns out to be strangely irresistible – and the food utterly delicious.

Distractions and styling aside (I know, we love distractions and styling) the food is the star.

Six hidden London gems

London is packed with some of the world’s most famous sites but as we get ready for the Olympics and World Pride, we don’t want to overlook its secrets

All eyes will be on London this summer as the British capital hosts World Pride, which Gay Star News has partnered with, and the Olympics.

Many of the images will be predictable. Few cities have so many globally famous icons as London. I was at an event at the top of Tower Bridge on Wednesday (21 March) and was told the bridge is one of the world’s top 10 most recognizable landmarks. Big Ben (or St Stephen’s Clock Tower for pedants) is also on the list.
