Marchers were banned from dressing indecently, dancing and smoking in the conservative Indian city

About 300 LGBTI activists marched through India's eighth largest city for the fourth Pune pride, double last year's turnout.

'This time we are specifically looking at youngsters who are petrified of coming out in the open about their sexual orientation,' Bindumadhav Khire, president of organizers Samapathik Trust, told the Times of India.

'We want to help them in accepting their sexuality and being comfortable about it.'

Taiwanese diva and gay icon A-mei is the face and body of a nude gay awareness campaign for ELEMENT magazine.

She will also appear on the cover of the Singapore-based LGBTI bi-monthly, the only cover shoot she is doing this year. 

A-mei said, 'Love needs to be respected regardless of who you are, who I am.

'I hope by taking part in this campaign, more people will be aware, understand and recognize the LGBT community.'

New South Wales approved the bill a day after Victoria introduced similar legislation

New South Wales today became the second Australian state to introduce a bill that will clear historical gay sex convictions, a day after Victoria introduced similar legislation.

The Parliament of New South Wales approved the bill which will be debated later this year.

Bruce Notley-Smith, the gay Liberal MP for Coogee district, introduced the legislation a week after he announced his intention to do so.

Both LGBTI and non-LGBTI actors report hearing homophobia on set and think that the entertainment industry still has a problem casting gay actors in straight roles

The results of a study have been published that find that many actors still believe Hollywood is rife with homophobia.

The research was undertaken by respected LGBT think thank, the Williams Institute at UCLA, and was funded by leading actor’s union, SAG-AFTRA [Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists]. Ken Howard, the union’s president, described the study as ‘unprecedented’.

Stuart Hatton Jr, from the UK, was announced as Mr Gay World last night

The search for Mr Gay World came to an end last night when one lucky man was chosen for the award.

Stuart Hatton Jr, from the UK, took the title at the ceremony in Rome, Italy.

Hatton Jr, from South Shields, wrote a jubilant status on Facebook after his win.

‘I WON MR GAY WORLD!!!’ he wrote.

‘I am still in a complete daze about it and overwhelmed. But this is just the BEGINNING. Now it's time to show the world what we as a global gay community are made of.

The average British person knows more gay men than lesbian women, a new poll has revealed.

Statistics show the average British person knows 5.5 gay men and 3.1 lesbian women. The poll only focused on these two aspects of the LGBTI community.

The information was gathered by independent polling agency YouGov in a survey aiming to find a reasonable number for how many gays and lesbians there are in the UK.

LGBTI group is suing Kenya’s government after board refused to let them register legally. Case will be landmark challenge of the Constitution

Gay people in Kenya are taking the government to the High Court, saying officials have breached the Constitution by refusing to recognize LGBTI organizations.

The case, which starts with a preliminary hearing tomorrow, is set to cause a media storm.

But if judges back them, they will pave the way for the government to legally recognize other LGBTI groups. And it will make it clear the Kenyan Constitution protects everyone, regardless of sexuality or gender identity.

It was last December that actor Marc Anthony Samuel made his first appearance as gay nursing student Felix Dubois on the ABC daytime soap General Hospital.

The character quickly gained attention but not in a good way.

In his very first scene, he pulled a tube of 'red velvet lipstick' out of his pocket when a female colleague needed to spruce up for a date. People were a little appalled because it appeared to be perpetuating a gay stereotype.

Pastor Kevin Swanson warned that if Colorado allows civil unions for same-sex couples, gays will end up burning Christians at the stake and children will be handed over to paedophiles.

Speaking on Generations Radio, Swanson warned that as soon as 2022, the state government will snatch kids from homeschooling families and deliver them to members of the a paedophile group he named as the North American Man/Boy Love Association(NAMBLA).

Two young men were attacked and brutally beaten by a mob of onlookers, and security officers of a Jamaican university.

Gay Star News have received unconfirmed preliminary reports from Jamaica that yesterday evening (1 November) two young men were caught having sex in the toilets at the University of Technology (U-Tech) Jamaica.

According to the reports, they were spotted and captured by a mob.

A survey by Rome county and European Union shows that 73% of LGBT people are victims of hate at school, at work and in everyday life

Two out of three lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Italians are still discriminated against, claims a survey of students and LGBT activists by Rome county, Provincia di Roma.

According to the study, 73% of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Italians have been victims of some sort of discrimination at school, at work, among relatives and in everyday life.

The survey is part of a European project against discrimination. Called ‘Niso’, it has also been carried out in Belgium, Holland and Estonia.

A gay bar which banned ‘straight kisses’ in Copenhagen, Denmark, is still splitting the LGBT community of the Danish capital.

Gay guide Homotropolis told GSN: ‘It’s not a written ban, it’s an unwritten rule, it’s always up to the owner to decide wether the customers are crossing the limits or not.

‘We haven't received any complaints from our readers.'

But the capital’s LGBT community is still split between those in favor and those against the rule.
