Rapper has hit out at the homophobia in urban music, accusing artists he knows of refusing to work with LGBTI artists

Rapper T-Pain has hit out at the hip hop community for its ongoing homophobia, claiming artists he knows will not work with Frank Ocean because of his sexuality.

In an interview with Vlad TV, the ‘Low’ rapper said the radio is becoming more gay-friendly but urban music is not.

‘I think the radio is getting more gay-friendly,’ he said.

‘I don't think urban music is getting more gay-friendly because if that was the case, Frank Ocean would be on a lot more songs.

Christine Quinn says Weiner called her and 'clarified the interaction'

New York City mayoral hopeful Anthony Weiner does not want anyone to think he approves of an elderly female supporter of his referring to his lesbian opponent Christine Quinn as a 'dyke.'

During a campaign trail encounter this week, Weiner encountered the woman as she was wheeling a shopping cart past him.

When he asked if she was a registered Democrat, the woman said: 'I am. And I’m not voting for uh, what’s her name? The dyke.'

Weiner replied: 'Okay. I just need you to sign the petition to get me on the ballot.

The play In The Life explores the significance of Polari, a language spoken by gay men at a time when homosexuality was illegal

Two weeks after former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher died, I met Steve Nallon to talk about a play I had planned to write called In The Life: A History of Polari.

Nallon famously voiced the Fluck & Law puppet of Mrs Thatcher on Spitting Image, a satirical British TV puppet show. I asked him to play a series of characters for In The Life, which is a romp through the history of the Polari language as well as that of homosexuality itself.

British mystery drama is being called offensive after lead character made several jokes about trans people

British mystery drama Jonathan Creek is being accused of transphobia.

The BBC series, which returned for an Easter special last night (1 April), featured a trans character.

During the episode, Creek played by Alan Davies referred to the character Jacqueline using male pronouns and made comments about her genitalia.

Jacqueline forgives Creek's crass comments, and later helps to solve the final piece of the puzzle.

British gay travel firm to file for insolvency. Trouble hit when a resort they were selling in Gran Canaria failed to open, leaving customers wanting refunds

One of Britain’s longest established gay travel operators, Mantrav, will go into insolvency in a matter of weeks, GSN can reveal.

Mantrav first hit problems when a resort it was selling on the gay party island of Gran Canaria didn’t open as planned in late 2011, forcing travelers to re-plan their holidays or seek compensation.

Some customers reported they turned up at the hotel only to be turned away at reception. Others claimed compensation payments were delayed and accused the firm of bad customer service.

John Scalzi has raised up to $50,000 for LGBT and civil rights charities in his 'Counteract a Bigot Drive'

An American author has responded to internet trolls by pledging $5 to gay and civil rights charities every time he receives abuse.

Award-winning science fiction writer John Scalzi has raised over $50,000 (£32,000, €37,000) by today (6 February).

Trolls attacked the author for a pro-choice satirical blogpost from last year in which Scalzi adopted the persona of a rapist. One troll, which Scalzi affectionately calls 'the Racist Sexist Homophobic Dipshit', took particular issue.

British singer says although she hates the idea of being married, gay weddings are 'exciting'

British singer-songwriter Paloma Faith has said gay weddings are better than straight ones. 

Speaking to Gaydar Radio, she said although she felt strongly about the right to making your decisions about sexuality and marriage, she personally hated the idea of getting married.

'As a heterosexual female, I hate the idea of getting married,' Faith said. 'But I've been to a few gay weddings and I think they're much more exciting than normal ones.'

Pop rocker Pink has spoken out in her characteristically frank way about her gay fans, marriage equality, and the upcoming US presidential election.

In an interview with Gaydar Radio’s breakfast hosts Neil Sexton and Debbie Ryan, the ‘Get The Party Started’ singer said it was important to represent her ‘really rad gay audience’.

Pink said: ‘I identify with people that struggle and I respect people that have to fight for their right to be respected.

English RnB pop superstar Cheryl Cole has come out for equal marriage.

Cole, who is currently promoting her single Call My Name, has also urged everyone to take part in the UK government’s consultation on how to introduce equal civil marriage in England and Wales, which ends on Thursday (14 June).

Gay campaigners in South Africa have turned into sleuths to help solve the mystery of a series of murders of gay men in Gauteng Province.

The string of killings began with the killing of Manolis Veloudos in April 2010. Seven more gay men were killed under similar circumstances, culminating with the murder of Rulov Seneval in February 2012.

Website launched for Gay Ski Week QT

Gay Ski Week NZ was in it’s ninth year last August when it all went horribly wrong. Three days before it was due to start Sally Whitewoods, who owns a backpacking hostel with her wife Mandy in Queenstown where the ski week was based, got a call from the organiser saying his company had gone into liquidation. ‘We just made last year happen within a 48 hour period,’ says Sally on the phone to Gay Star News from New Zealand. ‘Luckily we managed to keep everyone happy.’

Gay men will swap the gym for love this Christmas according to new research by Gaydar, one of the world's most popular online gay dating websites.

Stereotypes of promiscuous, self-obsessed gay men have been blasted by Gaydar’s poll of over 6,300 people.

The poll showed that:
