Teen actor becomes unlikely spokesperson for gender variance

Jaden Smith became an unlikely spokesperson for gender variance last week after he defended his choice to wear skirts dresses on social media.

While the actor and rapper received some anti-gay remarks, the response to his gender-neutral fashion sense was overwhelmingly positive with thousands of liking and sharing his posts.

The 16-year-old son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith on 8 April uploaded a photo of of him trying on a black-and-white striped dress on Instagram.

'Went to TopShop to Buy Some Girl Clothes, I Mean "Clothes,"' he wrote.

Gossip reports went crazy after the 16-year-old told rapper Tyler The Creator on Twitter: 'I Think Im In Love With You'

Will Smith's rep is being forced to deny son Jaden is gay.

The Focus star's team responded to the questionable rumors after gossip columnists read too much into a tweet.

One site alone, Media Take Out, reported: 'IT HAPPENED!!! Will Smith’s Son Jaden Smith Comes OUT OF THE CLOSET… He Admitted On Twitter… That He’s GAY!!!'

What had actually happened was Smith sent a tweet directed at Tyler the Creator.

He said: 'I Think Im In Love With You, I Don’t Know I’m Still Figuring It Out But In The Meantime, Happy Birthday.'

Is up for a total of six awards

Sam Smith did not have to wait long to become a Grammy winner on Sunday (8 February).

In the first award presented during the live telecast, Smith won the Grammy for Best New Artist.

Smith won over fellow nominees Iggy Azalea, Bastille, Brandy Clarke and Haim.

It is one of six categories Smith is nominated for including Record of the Year and Album of the Year.

Prior to the televised ceremony in Los Angeles, Smith chatted with Entertainment Tonight and described the event as 'a celebration of the last year and a half.'

But now that their six children are growing older, the superstar couple has decided to tie the knot even though marriage equality has not been fully achieved, Pitt's manager confirmed on Friday (13 April).
