Contemporary sculpture in Michigan condemned by local pastor as an abomination, despite the figures being sexless

A US pastor has slammed a contemporary sculpture unveiled last month, claiming it depicts a gay sex orgy even though the figures are sexless.

Local pastor Rick Strawcutter in particular was outraged at the new sculpture erected in Michigan, called Human Blue Condition by artist Mark Chatterley.

It was unveiled on 21 April and placed next to the city commission chambers in the town of Adrian, Michigan.

The sculpture was removed shortly after, after several residents complained about what they perceived to be a sexual nature of the figures.

Ivan Okhlobystin, who has also called on Putin to make homosexuality illegal, has retired from his creative director position at Euroset, Russia’s largest mobile phone retailer.

‘Given the incessant threats, provocations and insults from the sodomites in respect of my friends, associates and their familes, I have insisted I should resign,’ he said.

Gay-friendly US church was the victim of vandals as Minnesota readies to officially legalize same-sex marriage '

A pro-gay marriage church in the US was vandalized, egged, with ‘Sodom and Gomorrah’ scrawled on the walls.

The congregation of Pilgrims United Church of Christ in Maple Grove, Minnesota were flocking to attend the small community church, but was greeted with anti-gay graffiti.

Church staff believes it was a backlash after they backed the Minnesota same-sex marriage bill, which will be made officially law on 1 August.
