Gay male strip in North Miami Beach wins battle to have nude dancers and alcohol

Swinging Richards argued that city ordinance was not being enforced at female strip clubs

Male nude dancing will live on at Swinging Richards, a gay strip club in North Miami Beach that had sued the city for the right to continue to have its dancers perform in the buff.

The club agreed to drop its lawsuit which challenged a city ordinance that prohibited the mix of nudity and alcohol. In exchange, Swinging Richards and the straight strip clubs Dean’s Gold and G5 are no longer restricted by the 1994 ordinance.

Swinging Richards had argued that the ordinance was not being enforced against straight clubs in North Miami.

Magic Mike, the upcoming film about male strippers that hits theaters in the US on June 29, is based in the real-life experiences of star Channing Tatum who worked at a strip club in Tampa, Florida, when he was 19.

The film's first trailer, released a few weeks ago, focuses on the budding romantic relationship between Tatum's stripper character and a disapproving love interest played by Cody Horn.

So why would gay males want to flock to watch a heterosexual romance?

Bomer will be flexing his pecs and flashing his flesh as Ken, a member of a stripper posse which is headed by ‘Magic’ Mike Martigano and includes Tito (Adam Rodriguez) and Big Richie (Joe Manganiello), managed by stripper-turned-owner Dallas (Matthew McConaughey)

Alex Pettyfer stars as rookie stripper The Kid, who Tatum’s character mentors before discovering his real talent lies in making bespoke furniture.
