Former Rutgers student who spied on gay roommate released from jail

Dharun Ravi was released from Middlesex County jail in North Brunswick, New Jersey, on Tuesday (19 June) and will not have to worry about being deported to his native India.

The 20 year old, convicted of spying on his gay roommate and another man while a student at Rutgers University, served 20 days of a 30 day sentence in the high-profile case. The roommate, Tyler Clementi, committed suicide after Ravi discussed what he saw on the webcam with friends on Twitter.
