Dave Agema, who serves as a Michigan Republican National Committeeman, said Thursday (28 March) that he would not resign despite furor over an anti-gay article he posted on Facebook this week.

The article states such things as 'part of the homosexual agenda is to get the public to affirm their filthy lifestyle' and labels gays and lesbians as 'filthy.'

Love conquers all – and whether or not the US Supreme Court rules for gay marriage, these kids have won our hearts.

As the Justices sit today and tomorrow to hear vital cases on Proposition 8 and DOMA, crowds have flocked to Washington DC to have their say.

And while the anti-gay protestors are emphasizing hate, calling for the death penalty for ‘fags’, there’s a message of love and hope from those supporting same-sex marriage equality.

Italy’s leading students’ association has called for ‘the end of gay hate on Facebook. We need a law against discrimination on social networks.’

Rete degli Studenti Medi’s spokesman Daniele Lanni said: ‘We have to stop gay hate, we can not allow stupid people to comment and insult LGBT students.’

Lanni’s statement came after an episode of discrimination at the Liceo Classico Asproni high school in Nuoro, on the Italian island of Sardinia.

The Puerto Rican featherweight thanks ‘his LGBT community’ after defeating Mexican boxer Aaron Martinez 

Openly gay pro boxer Orlando Cruz has won his second match since coming out as a gay athlete.

Yesterday evening at a scheduled match in Florida, Orlando ‘The Phenomenon’ Cruz defeated Aaron ‘The Bomber’ Martinez in a 6th-round technical knock-out.

Cruz has amassed a massive gay and straight following since coming out last October.

In the ring Cruz wore a boxing kilt with the colors of the Puerto Rican flag in the front, and the rainbow colors of gay pride in the back.

Victim: 'They knew I was gay. They knew they were taller and bigger'

A gay man was beaten unconscious as his attacker repeatedly called him a faggot in Davis, California, over the weekend.

Mikey Partida, 32, had been celebrating his birthday and was leaving his cousin's house early Sunday (10 March) when the attack occurred.

Partida said a man who lived near his cousin began to verbally harass him as he was leaving the house.

He said he ignored the loud taunts of 'faggot' and quickly walked by. But then he had to turn around and go back to his cousin's house to retrieve his keys.

Networking event will ask if companies really understand LGBT diversity and call on them to celebrate their successes

Senior executives from companies including Google, Deutsche Bank and Microsoft are to attend a networking event about using LGBT diversity to drive their business.

The event is being hosted by law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP in London on 20 March and the guestlist is strictly limited to decision makers from firms who employ over 1,000 people or whose annual turnover exceeds £500m and a handful of other key influencers.

Police have launched a hate crime investigation after six people attacked a gay couple in New York City

A 23-year-old gay man was attacked on a Manhattan subway, as a crowd of onlookers did nothing.

Urena Morel Frankelly and his boyfriend were on a train on 18 February, when a woman took a picture of them eating and her friend called them names.

After the victim asked them why the two was taken a picture, the suspect said ‘Feed your face, faggot,’ the New York Daily News reports.

As an argument erupted, the two women, who were joined by three others plus a man, attacked Frankelly, police said.

San Francisco 49er cornerback Chris Culliver has apologized for saying on a radio show that there is no place for gays in the National Football League.

'The derogatory comments I made yesterday were a reflection of thoughts in my head, but they are not how I feel,' stated Culliver whose team faces the Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl on Sunday (3 February).

Police are investigating a minority group who have been attacking people, saying they have to 'get out of Muslim areas'

Police are investigating a so-called ‘Muslim Patrol’ in London who have been harassing men for looking ‘gay’.

In video footage posted on YouTube from the weekend (19-20 January), it shows a group calling a passerby a ‘bloody fag’.

‘Hello mate, don’t you know this is a Muslim area?’ asks a male member. ‘Why you dressed like that for?’

When asked why they were bothering him, the group says: ‘Cause you’re walking through a Muslim area dressed like a fag! You need to get out of here!’

Cleveland Browns linebacker Ricky 'Tank' Carder apologizes for homophobic slur on Twitter

American football player Ricky 'Tank' Carder has apologized for calling someone a 'faggot' on Twitter.

Despite deleting the offensive tweet on Wednesday (21 November), the Cleveland Browns linebacker initially stood by his post.

'Haters gon hate cause that’s what they do, haters don’t give respect where it should be given so I’m done arguing with you fools,' he wrote on Saturday (24 November).

But now Carder has done a U-turn, admitting he was wrong to use the homophobic slur.

Robin Tomlin haunted for decades after he was described as 'fag'

Robin Tomlin is dying of liver cancer but wants some closure on one of the most painful episodes of his life.

As a student at Argyle Secondary School in North Vancouver 42 years ago, he received his yearbook and when he opened it to the page with his picture on it, there was one word printed under his name: 'Fag.'

'I feel like, emotionally, they've been beating me with a stick for 42 years,' he tells the North Shore News.
