For many a jaded Londoner, there's comes a point where you feel you've seen it all before, that the city has nothing new to offer. (Which is almost NEVER the case – I've lived here for almost seven years and never seen Little Venice).

Zukerman performed with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Christoph Koenig at London's Royal Festival Hall.

It had been a brilliant sunny Spring day and London's Southbank precinct was swarming with an excited after-work crowd, drinking, laughing, and making the most of the warm evening.

One of the best views along the Thames and across the city is from the sixth floor balcony of the Royal Festival Hall.

It was pretty much a sell-out crowd that was gathering for a performance by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Christoph Koenig.

The singer asked her girlfriend to marry her during a boat trip on the Thames

Lucy Spraggan, a former X Facto contestant, has announced her engagement to her girlfriend Georgina Gordon.

The singer popped the question during a boat trip down the Thames on Sunday, according to reports.

It was also the day her new single, titled Unsinkable, was released.

The pair, who have been dating for roughly a year, were greeted by family and friends after their trip.

In 2012 Spraggan took part in the British version of the X Factor.

And one, gourmet French pastry chef Eric Lanlard, has been at the forefront of revolution – baking on TV with his own Channel 4 series and publishing books on cakes, tarts and now chocolate.

Meanwhile he’s made his name by baking for the stars. Madonna ordered his pile of profiteroles – a croquembouche – for her wedding to Guy Ritchie and he has made wedding cakes for Elizabeth Hurley and Claudia Schiffer.
