Emily Rios: 'This is why I love the character because I deal with the same type of things with my own family'

It was already public knowledge that the character Emily Rios plays on the FX drama The Bridge is a lesbian.

But it was not until this week that the 25-year-old actress has acknowledged that she is also a lesbian off screen.

Rios plays a young reporter in the series that follows two police detectives - one Mexican, one American - who have joined together to investigate a serial killer menacing both the US and Mexico along the Texas-Chihuahua border.

All eyes will be on London this summer as the British capital hosts World Pride, which Gay Star News has partnered with, and the Olympics.

Many of the images will be predictable. Few cities have so many globally famous icons as London. I was at an event at the top of Tower Bridge on Wednesday (21 March) and was told the bridge is one of the world’s top 10 most recognizable landmarks. Big Ben (or St Stephen’s Clock Tower for pedants) is also on the list.
